Is Le’Veon Bell hinting at leaving Pittsburgh?

Ok but don't know if I want to buy the notion that he isn't a rhythm QB. At times sure if he is locking on somewhere else and late to throw. But plenty of times I have seen him hit the player in stride....

I have too. Not saying he cant at all. Just saying he doesnt do it as far as his checkdowns alot. Is what it is. I go nuts and cheer like everyone else when he buys time and make a big play.

Bell Facts

1. Bell gets lots of yards
2. Bell gets way more touches than anyone
3. Bell only had 1 play over 20 yards (not a big play back)
4. Bell has a ton of wear and tear for a youngish back
5. We dont have a guy who can do what he does right now

Bottom line is Bell is more of a grinder back w/ a injury / suspension history. He is not worth 14-15 million. The offense will be fine w/o him and the defense would be better. We can pick up or draft a serviceable back, save a ton of money, and help the team where it needs more help. I know most people want Bell back, but we had him last year and we couldnt even beat the Jags. Why would we throw more money at him and just roll with the same ole again. I just dont think its possible to sign Bell, get a good safety, find a replacement for Shazier, an upgrade at CB, and an upgrade over Dupree. We would have to hit the powerball in the draft. Without Bell we could buy good talent for at least 2-3 holes and draft to fill the rest. I just dont think one RB is worth losing out on being able to shore up 2-3 other spots of more severe need.

Everything he said!!!! I love what Bell brings to the table, just not the price. I don't want to pay $600 for a 16 oz steak.

Where have i gone on and on about his catches? Why is it ok to point out Bell deficiencies but not Ben's. Nobody player is perfect not Bell and not Ben either.
Well this is a thread about Bell, not Ben, but someone said if only Ben could hit the check downs like Brady does, then someone brought up Dion Lewis.
Dion Lewis had horrible receiving #'s, but Brady is so great at hitting his check downs.

If you dont want to see what we are talking about then so be it..lewis was an example..he also shares time with two other backs who catches those passes from Brady. So it isnt about stats. Brady Brees others hits their checkdowns in a rhythm off the offense thats allows their backs to be one on one with defenders. Ben doesnt do that alot.. its not a knock against Ben. Just like Ben being able to run arpunf buy time and then hit a huge play isnt a knock against those guys. And i wasnt the first person in the thread to say this

That's fine, James White had the same yards per catch as Bell to, so Brady wasn't exactly brilliant there either.
They also play in a totally different offense.

What does style of offense have to with anything? A checkdown is a checkdown in any offense

Sorry Ben is very capable of getting it out quickly and in rhythm.

I think yinz are really reaching with that perspective.

Difference really is Ben is a down the field sandlot type passer, two different type QBs.

He is looking for big plays as Brady is content on the dink and dunk.

Both styles work for both QBs.

You wouldn't ask Ben to change up his game any more than you would ask Brady to be bombs away Ben.

You plug different WRs in and the O still goes, you plug different Rbs in and the O stills goes.

It is all about Ben, keep trying to belittle what he is capable of.

His stats tell a different story.
I agree with your assesment 100 percent. But there is a little difference in terms of winning. Brady wins and scores tons with one big time matchup player and a big time deep threat. Ben had best wr and best running back. And several other major weapons. Even in the Jags and Eagles games Im like how the hell are these shity small receivers getting open. The truth is he throws them open. You put Bell with Brady. Are you kidding me. Unstoppable.

Why would i need the playbook. A Checkdown means exactly that. Not your first read..
A check down is a pass to a RB or TE after the QB went through all his reads, not just his first read.

So Ben isn't that good at hitting his check downs, but Bell has gone over 70 catches 3 times and over 80 twice.

No mention of him cheating in there either? He wasn't throwing many guys open, they were just wide open and he was just throwing jump balls to Gronk. And getting bullshit PIs vs the Jags that put them in scoring position

And where does anyone say he isnt good at hitting his checkdown??? Hitting him a little earlier is what i said. In rhythm off the offense as in when he finishes his drop.
That extra second or two is crucial or can be crucial.

And again without knowing the routes everyone is running there's no way of knowing how long it takes to get through the progressions. NE's O has been primarily dink and dunk for the last several years, so if he has two wr's running shallow crosses and Gronk running an out, he's going to get through those reads quick.
If Brady is so good at hitting his guys quick, why does his 3rd down back(white) and primary RB (Lewis) only have 3 more catches than Bell, combined for less first down catches than Bell, and White's yards per catch was the same as Bell, and Lewis's was over a yard less?

Well, he has few big plays. Sorry but a guy getting paid 10+ million a season needs some big plays. I found his YPR at 4.0 to be below average with the talent around him. 20+ backs did better. His YPC wasn't very good either.

Look a the super bowl winner this year. They had Lewis and Blount for far less in costs.

Cherry picking? How is a full season of work cherry picking, and let's be real we have an easier schedule last season. Most backs decline as they age. Bell has been used a lot. Too much if you ask me. RB's are easily replaced.

You're cherry picking because you're using the one year to validate your nonsensical point. One. Year. Especially when in three of his other years, he averaged damn near 5.0 ypc, and has an average ypc of 4.5.

We can get to or win a SB without Bell. We cannot win or get to a SB with the current defense. We saw how that played out already, scoring 42 and still losing.

Not that you can't but it is a lot to try to break in a new RB, replacing a pro bowl RB anddddd improve a D that lost a pro bowl ILBer and has father time sitting back there at FS.

Add to that Ben is a short timer?

Just really prefer not to go that route...

A fan can think or say whatever they want but **** I hope the team doesnt think that way. You have to devise schemes and personnel to beat them. Not cry in your soup about how tyey win.

The team hasn't beaten them in 7 years, so who knows what they're thinking
