Landry has been given permission to seek and facilitate a trade from the Dolphins, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

After failing to agree to a long-term extension, the Dolphins placed a $16.2 million franchise tag on Landry last week -- but that doesn't guarantee the wideout will call Miami home come Week 1. It was initially believed that any trade for Landry would have to involve two first-round draft picks, but it has been reported that the asking price has lowered for the Dolphins. Landry is coming off an NFL-leading 112-catch season, to go along with 987 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 16 games.

Give them Bryant,Mitchell,and Gay.
And Landry...

I hear the Bears will be a possible suitor. Makes sense as the Wheaton experiment failed.

Okay, they tag him and allow his agent to seek a trade.

The Steelers can do the same for Bell, all they need to do it tag him after putting some feelers out to see if other teams are interested.

i would give them our landry.

Landry Jones isn't a starter, but he's okay as a back up. Jokes aside, Dobbs would be terrible as the primary back up.

Based on what??

If we don't come to a decent contract by March 6th, we should tag Bell and do the same thing.

A few youtube clips Coach looked at the other night.

Yeah right,

I've seen just about every snap Landry Jones has taken in the pre-season and ALL snaps he has taken in the regular season.

But dump him and Dobbs if he had to play would sink us fast. Not that I want to be proven right at the cost of a blown game.

Speak up, the peanut gallery of Pro Bell fans ( Who I predict will turn on him the second the door his him in the @@@ ) can't hear you.

I agree with what you said.

So did I and Dobbs was what, the lowest rated passer in the pre-season?

PS: You watch the games in sun glasses, don't you?

Dobbs got better every pre season game, and got the Steelers 3 wins. Landry showed mild improvement in 3 Steelers preseasons. Was the leading passer in the league one year.

They're both backups, so what does it matter, other than I think Dobbs ceiling is higher.

I'm Pro Bell, and I agree. Tag him and let him seek a trade, not necessarily with the intention of trading him, but to let him find out if there really are any teams willing to offer more than the Steelers. If I'm the Steelers, I also make it clear the current offer is off the table because if he wants to take his chances elsewhere, and finds nobody is willing to pay him more than $10m per season, I'm not paying him $12m+ per season.

Didn't we offer him $12 mill a year last Off season? I'm sure our offer this Off season has been even more. While I would love Bell to be here until he retires it seems crazy to give him what he wants when as a team you have other areas to fill in a win now mode. And I think if he thinks he is worth $15 mill or more a year than he should stick to his guns. If I am the Steelers though I move on now from him. Do what Miami just did. Tag him and let him seek a trade. Maybe we can nab a high draft pick for him. Or even help on the defensive side of the ball.

and he spent all his game time throwing to the scrubs....give him time with AB, Bryant and JuJu and I bet he looks better
