Bryant for Clinton-Dix? (and other Bryant trade rumors)

When dreams may come.

And go.

We likely would only get 1 year of Clinton-Dix, I'd rather have a 3rd round draft pick for Bryant.

Either or would be nice, but on the realistic side of things. Both highly unlikely.

I am thinking nobody would give anything higher than a 5th for Bryant if that. Too many risks for someone interested. Will he stay clean, will he get the burst back, will he be a distraction for the new team if not targeted enough?

I just don't see the Steelers thinning the position while not getting value in a trade.

Makes as much sense as Bell being traded to Cleveland, for two first round picks, and drafting Barkley.

A 3rd round pick for MB is a pipe dream. We might get a 5th, at best.

Looking like where there's smoke there's fire for Bryant. Don't fail any drug tests Marty we need some trade value

HA, HA, What would his cap number be on the trade? Can we afford both Dix and Bell?

How about Dix for Bell and a 2nd round pick? We'd save a ton on the cap, fix the safety positon, and draft a back in round two.

Can we afford?..

A. He’s on the 5th year option. You would give him a contract extension....like we do with all our previous 1st rounders who got the 5th option.

B. It’s already been opined by the Florio’s and Fowlers that the cap will increase close to 10 million....so that aids in getting FA LB and Safety.

C. Bell CANNOT be TRADED, he’s a UFA. This dream world you live in is unsafe. Wake up.

Everyone just put down the crackpipe and step back, the only way that trade happens is if we add a 3rd rounder to the trade

Steelers said "no". Jeremy Fowler says it could get done for a 2nd or 3rd this year though.

Steelers, Martavis Bryant seem destined for eventual divorce

The Steelers may not be actively shopping Martavis Bryant, but they're likely keeping all options open as the talented WR enters a contract year.

I figured you would be against trading Bryant considering the stat you always posted about how important he was to the offense

good thing they said No, he was key in the final games. Still remember that one handed TD catch while being mugged by his defender

With the emergence of Ju-Ju, who looks to be a better overall player, Bryant is not going to stick around as the 3rd fiddle, unless the Steelers pay him like a #1 receiver when his contract expires.

We can keep him for a year. Otherwise, he's likely gone in free agency in 2019. I think a 2nd round pick for Bryant would the point where the Steelers shake hands.

You know something, you might have inadvertently brought up a good point. With Haley gone, maybe Bryant will be used correctly?

Bryant has a chance to seize the opportunity, but he was sulky and outplayed by a rookie failing to play to the level he did in the past. Didn't he say he was going to leave?

Once again, SIGN and Trade for Bell. Got it?

I'm not a capologist, but can you show me how the Steelers could afford both Bell and Dix without cutting starting players and allocating enough cap space to sign the drafted rookies?

If they offer a third I would be all over that. Then you draft a WR in the third.

Here is a player of value, who did get more dependable on the field, what our we thinking. .

You'd cut the starting player he would replace Mitchell. Dix 5th year option is 5.6 million less 5 million saved from cutting Mitchell = 600K extra cap hit.

For what we're doing in this offense, I don't move MB. He'll be a key piece this season. Then we'll get a comp when he leaves and signs an inflated contract.

ONCE AGAIN this is not the NBA how do you do a sign and trade deal with bonus ramifications to our salary cap? You can’t do it. Got it?
