Evaluating the good and bad with Barkley

I remember when Barry Sanders would lead the league in negative plays. It only took one play to get him to the house, and that is how Barkley plays.

does he have sweet titties?

Y'all are drooling on this kids nuts. Its one thing to do it in college, which he did extremely well. Time will tell how he does in the pros.

Best back since AP? Y'all forgetting what Fournette did in college? Kid was a man among boys.

He had a rough second year because of the Rog but some kid named Zeke also had a fantastic rookie season right out of college.

Agreed - and, personally, I think Le'Veon is still the best back in the league...

the same Bell you hated in the draft because you wanted Lacy? Then you spent Bell's whole rookie year still pimping Lacy while Bell was injured. I mean Bell played in the Big Ten so he couldn't possibly be good. Same for Barkley.

Fournette was shut down at times. He's a battering ram who doesn't do much as a receiver. That wheel route vs the Pats where he was open and couldn't even track the ball well enough to get his hands on it would have been an easy TD for Barkley.

Barkley is a much better prospect than Fournette.

Zeke is comparable to Barkley because they are both athletic, with home run speed and good hands. Zeke showed more as an inside runner because that was Ohio State's offense. Barkley has shown more as a receiver because PSU actually used him as a slot WR at times catching over the shoulder fades. Few NFL RBs can do that.

Zeke did get drafted 4th overall. Barkley will go in that area and possibly higher because there is no OT worth that high of a pick.

I think the RBs that bust are the ones who had it too easy in college. Guys like Trent Richardson who ran through gaping holes at Bama. Nobody bothered to notice that he had no agility and couldn't make anybody miss. Making people miss is the most important factor for RB success. Barkley is off the charts in that area.

Nobody is a guarantee but Barkley is damn close. Even a negative review of Barkley predicts he'll be a good player

Bell does not make the huge plays and is not a threat to take it to the house. Bell does everything well, but is not a homerun back.
If you look at the games Barkley was shut down alot of it was due to penn state's oline getting manhandled. Barkley was getting hit behind the line a lot. I think he has a ton of potential, but i wouldn't put him on APs level. AP had ridiculous skills in his prime.

Cope is the one who said not since AP has there been a skilled athlete at RB (Peterson can't catch for **** and has a fumbling issue dating back to college). Fournette is a god damned beast of an RB in the same mold as AP. He may not have receiver skills like Barkley but as a pure RB he's the type of runner you want running between the tackles. Zeke showed us in 2016 he can catch and run when he took a screen pass to the house at Heinz Field.

The game has evolved for RBs and when you look at the style of RBs and see someone like Bell putting up 80+ catches in a season you realize that the old school between the tackle RBs and the receiver style RBs (Faulk, Bell, LT) are dynamic. Barkley may have the skill set to be in that Faulk, Bell, LT grouping but I will outright say there have been and are many very good RBs in the league who have differing styles. The problem with the position is they just don't have the shelf life because of the hits they take and also the fact that the league has transitioned to a predominantly pass league.

My point was that he dismissed Bell because he played in the Big Ten and probably thinks the same for Barkley.
