Key phrase is "going to", and they don't have 20+ million tied up at QB and another 16 at wr, and how many along the OLine. And how much you think he is going to cost them.

Isn’t the franchise tag salary the average of the top 5 salaries in the league? Who is paying their RBs that much?
I can't see spending huge money on Bell when he's only played every game in one season out of five and they're going to lose in the playoffs anyway because their defense sucks. And we severely lack talent on the D side of the ball. I think all the playoff teams besides us use multiple rbs at a price of no where near 14+million.
The Rams have Gurley but on his rookie contract.

How has blowing all their salary cap money on one player worked out for the Ratbirds?
Here is what I predict will happen:
Tombert WILL find a way to restructure some contracts and sign Bell for pretty large coin.
Bell will get hurt again, miss 6-8 games and finish the season on IR again.
Steelers lose in their first or second playoff game again.
200 carries, 900 yards, 4.5 ypc, 11 TDs, 40 catches on 47 targets. This is what DeAngelo Williams did for us in 2015, started 10 games for 1.6 million
Those were his 2015 stats, he had a cap hit of just under 1.5 actuallyClose ....Spotrac put his full cap hit at $2,565,000 in '16. We could pay for two more horses like that and still keep Conner for ***** and giggles.......and still save about 9 or10 mil to get us some help back there on the 'D'
I'm sorry, I just don't see the advantage we get keepin' "toke" around to serenade the locker room.
