Trump's state of the union address

-I saw Nancy just sitting there all by here herself, so dejected. She looked like an old sour prune. Hell ya

When she wasn't dejected, she was aggravated.

I can't believe anyone takes Nancy Pelosi seriously. There has been more bullshit come from that woman's mouth than perhaps any politician in human history. She is a clown.

What else are they going to do with those huge tax breaks?

It is none of my business what they do with it. Or yours, pelosi, or any one elses.

As a business owner myself, I take care of 100% of my employees premiums. I've always felt it is my responsibility as a business owner, to provide health and security to my employees and their families.

All businesses used to believe this way before they forgot to take care of their employees to instead maximize profits. If you neglect to take care of your employees, your business morale will suffer, and then your company will suffer for it in turn.

She's a poster child for term limits and why we should have them. That thing is part of the machine running this country. People actually vote her into office again and again.

As someone that works for a major nursing home company. This will crush us in two ways. Financial and staffing levels. The staff are always pregnant

Do the male residents seem extraordinarily content at the nursing home?

Where the hell is this place? I might spend a three day weekend there? Got a room with a mini bar?

BREAKING: Train Carrying Lawmakers to GOP Retreat Collides With a Dump Truck

WASHINGTON — A chartered train carrying dozens of GOP lawmakers to a Republican retreat in West Virginia struck a garbage truck south of Charlottesville, Va., on Wednesday. No lawmakers were believed injured, but at least one person in the truck was said to be seriously injured.

Arkansas Reps. Bruce Westerman and Steve Womack were among those on the train, they wrote on Twitter, and Rep. French Hill’s office also confirmed he is “safe and sound.”

Sen. John Boozman and his wife were also on the train and unhurt, the senator’s office said.

“I am fine,” Westerman said. “No one on the train was injured, as far as I know.” Womack wrote that he is safe “but praying for all involved.”

Rep. Rick Crawford said on Twitter that he is “fortunate enough to be safe.” Crawford also posted a photo showing damage to the front of the train.

Sen. Tom Cotton’s office said he was not on the train.

Oklahoma GOP Rep. Tom Cole said a person on the truck may have been injured. Emergency workers were on the scene.

Westerman wrote that there were three people in the truck that was struck.

Cole said he’s not aware of any injuries on the train. A GOP aide speaking on condition of anonymity says no lawmakers were injured.

CNN Anchors Impressed By Trump's 'Very Strong' Speech, 'Beautiful Prose'

The votes are in and by most accounts President Trump's first State of the Union was a home run. At an hour and 20 minutes, it was one of the longest addresses in modern history. It was a lengthy speech, but "a very strong speech," CNN's Wolf Blitzer noted Tuesday night after the main event.

“Let’s set aside for a second the parts of the speech everyone in the world likes: the inspirational stories of Americans, and the calls to unity, and the beautiful prose,” Jake Tapper, another CNN anchor, added.

Other CNN contributors like Chris Cillizza were among those media pundits who acknowledged the "amazing moment" when Trump recognized North Korean defector Ji Seong Ho, who became crippled in his search for freedom. When the president gave him his moment in the spotlight, Seong Ho lifted his crutches for all to see.

The good reviews trickled over into other networks. At NBC News, Savannah Guthrie, while doubting the substance of the speech, had to at least note it struck a positive tone.

“I thought in terms of its tone, the president did what he said he was going to do. It was optimistic, it was bright, it was conciliatory," she said.

The American people agreed, according to polling. CBS News found that 75 percent of viewers liked what they heard from Trump. Even more telling, seventy-two percent of independents approved.

The train crash was pretty close to where we live. I read where there was a fatality. The passenger in the garbage truck died. Apparently the truck got stuck going over the RR grade. It must have been pretty loaded down. Not sure why the guys remained with the truck. As soon as those gates came down I would have been hauling *** away from the truck.

Amazing it wasn't worse than it was.

Feel sorry for the garbage crew. It's a local mom and pop business and we're one of their customers. Can't imagine how the owners of the business are going to sleep tonight.

When the news broke, I only heard that the train full of politicians on their way to the Greenbrier resort struck a vehicle on the tracks. I thought it must have been intentional. After seeing photos of the truck and seeing it was a local company that has good respectable employees (at least the ones I've briefly talked to at the curb when they pick up the trash), I then figured it must have been just a bad accident and those guys were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time..

Too funny, every regular person I know thought Trump's speech was great and Joe Kennedy's sucked, every mainstream media outlet said the opposite. They sure do have their finger on the nation's pulse.

Even more telling is my FB feed. I have several flaming liberal, ***** hat wearing friends. The 2 most vocal said NOTHING about Trump's speech. NOTHING. NOTHING about Kennedy's speech either. Normally Hat #1 is frothing at the mouth at the slightest thing Trump does and openly worships Rachel MadCow. Every other post I saw about the speech was that it was great (including a few of my more moderate Democrat friends).

Same here. I have a few friends from college that never changed their ideology in 40 years, and lean hard left. Only know them now through FB anymore and they constantly look for reasons to post anything anti-Trump, or anything they think is damaging to the right.

Crickets on the speech. Other than their political views, I always enjoyed hanging with them. Just kept my opinions to myself and changed the subject.

Gotta love when even a DNC MSM poll from CBS shows 43% of Dems thought Trumps speech was great. He knocked it out of the park and it just goes to show how out of touch the DemonRats on the hill truly are.

I'm an elected member of my county Republican committee. One of my best friends is my counterpart on the county Democrat committee and he's not nearly as far Left as most of what my other Lib friends are on FB. He's of the opinion that they will keep losing elections if they stay full Libtard and that Joe Manchin is the ****. I often joke with him that the Dem party doesn't want his kind.

How does this mean the left is out of touch? The president was suggesting some pretty liberal views on certain policies. It's no mistake that a percentage of the left would be open to it. It's called politics, which requires both sides working together to work.

Thus far the approach of playing monopoly from the right didn't work at all. Very smart for the president to start bridging the gap. That way some legislation may actually get passed this year.

Tax cuts got passed, didnt it? You act like Congress "passing legislation" is a good thing. Often it just sucks.

My lib friends said they like the speech except one who's still recovering from the 2016 election.

Takeaways from my facebook feed,

1 ) The most important thing was not everyone was aware of Trump's accomplishments, thanks in part those who get their news from CNN, or CBS as they do not comment on anything positive from Trump.

2 ) Another said if Trump would just speak like this in public and save the less than flattering stuff for private, he'd be much better off.

3 ) Everyone loves their 401k's

They sat on their hands the whole time. You even had the one hispanic Senator storm out when they chanted USA. If that isn't out of touch, I don't know what is. The poll numbers just prove that fact.

A major nursing home company doesn't give their employees any paid maternity leave? That surprises me.

He needs to GTFO and go back to Mexico if he likes it so much.

ACLU complained about the number of times Trump said America.
