The Pittsburgh Steelers’ last off season was a rough one to say the least. Team drama was littering the locker room, some of the most noteworthy being that of star running back Le’Veon Bell. The contract disputes were quite worrying, and were so extreme to the point that Bell sat out training camp and preseason […]

I’m not even an old head to remember the days of Franco and others. While, sorry if he signs...then we shall see right now, he doesn’t hold a candle to Franco imo.

Hey ...everybody should want him back, that's true but at what cost is the second part of the conversation.

Is he a great RB...in a word YES,

Is it worth the price we have to pay. remains to be seen, Lets hope we don't lose the farm tryin' to save that thoroughbred,

Is he going to play defense? I'd take a Bettis or Franco over him any day. What was his longest run this year 27 yards? Excuse me if I'm not thrilled about the Steelers potentially way over paying a guy when their defense was smoldering ashes at home vs jagoffville.

It's a fluff piece and we will see about greatest RB in STEELERS history. Time has a way of working those details out. Do I want him to succeed,..HELL yes but as many
here have stated.....at what cost. Mortgaging the TEAM for one player does NOT make sense unless you are Coach Mike Tomlin. Bell is one of a small handful of current
players who help to cover the inadequacies of this current coaching staff. Without Bell, Coach Cool Shades would be on his way out just a little sooner. Why else run him
until his wheels drop off unless you have no other answer or are feared. James Conner had 19 carries in the first half of the season. That is a crying shame weather he can
pick up blitz or not. Put him in in the right situation and assignment, COACHING COACHING COACHING. I'm all for the plus side of Bell but totally against the surrender
the TEAM for him side.

Disagree. Due to free agency and the salary cap he won't be here long enough. Also he rarely stays healthy for a full season.
Greatest Stiller RB is Franco Harris. Second-leading rusher of all time when he retired. Jerome Bettis is a close second. I doubt very much that Bell will crack the top ten in career rushing yards and for sure will never crack the top five.

Not only that but he wouldn't have to show up till week 10 as he needs ONLY to be available to play in SIX games to satisfy the TAG .

Good for him. Have fun in Cleveland if your price doesn’t drop in half.

Please send him to " the Land " as they say in that rustic brown looking city by the lake.

I will laugh real hard when his yards per carry drops fro, 4.0 to 3.5, and he start pointing fingers. Come to think of it, there is a rap song in the making here.

Yeah, they kicked me out of the burg,

Watch me show that sunglass wearing turd.

You've got to pay a talent like me...

It's not all on Bell's shoulders to reach a Super Bowl.

Here are their career yards from scrimmage per game:
Bell 128.96
Franco 83.27
Bettis 78,70

Will see what bell's longevity is, but almost 50 per game difference is a pretty wide margin.

On a per game average, sure, he should exceed both Franco and Jerome.
Problem would be his longevity as a member of the Steelers. I really doubt he'll be kept long enough to ride into the sunset like Jerome did.

Much smaller sample size for Bell though. He's played about one-third as many games as Harris and Bettis so an average isn't as meaningful. Not saying he's not good. Too early to say he'll be the greatest Steeler RB ever because he will probably only spend half his career here and almost certainly won't play as many games as Harris and Bettis.

It was much tougher to run the ball in Franco and Jerome's day, and RB's were not really used as pass catchers like they are today.

A better comparison is their yards per rush and yards per catch in the first few seasons.
