One was posted a week or so ago in another thread. The high school boys working at the Mt. Lebanon Giant Eagle will be very depressed.
 
The weird thing to me was that haley gets a lot of credit for keeping ben from getting sacked as much as early in his career but it looked like a lot of his plays had deeper patterns that took a long time to develop and were lower percentage type throws for ben to make. i would have liked to see more short curls and crossing patterns in certain situations, more high percentage quick throws and that's not what i saw from haley's offense. very rarely. not that i want to be the pats dink and dunk but more high percentage plays so that's weird to me. very werid. I really disliked haley's play calling. it sucked on too many days. I am glad he is gone and hope we get a good play caller with fitchner. hopefully please

Hue Jackson is getting his playcaller.

The Cleveland Browns are hiring Todd Haley as the team's new offensive coordinator, NFL Network's Michael Silver reported.

Haley parted ways with the Pittsburgh Steelers after serving as the team's offensive coordinator from 2012-2017. Haley previously was the head coach of the Kansas City Chiefs from 2009-2011.

Cleveland did not have an offensive coordinator in its last two seasons. Jackson called plays as part of his duties as head coach.

The guy did good here, and he kept Ben upright. Problem was he was difficult.

He won't have near the talent there as he had here. He won't have a HOF quarterback to bail his pitch back 8yards behind the line of scrimmage on a 3rd and short one play calling ability to lean back on. How about his bubble screen or bunch in tight formation with all the defense pulled in close then try and run it with no full back????? I doubt we miss him at all and we know his "O" so if Cool Shades isn't "fluffing" the "D", we should tee off on them.

Did Hue Jackson voluntarily relinquish offense to Todd Haley?

Browns coach Hue Jackson didn’t have an offensive coordinator in 2017. He now has one, and it’s hardly the kind of right-hand man that many offensive-minded head coaches often hire.

Instead, Haley will call the plays. That’s a major concession for Jackson, one that the circumstances suggest may not have been voluntary.

Jackson, who was both coach and de facto offensive coordinator last year, essentially has given up one of his jobs. It’s fair to ask whether it was his idea, or whether the idea was impressed upon him.

At one point, a report surfaced that new G.M. John Dorsey would be hiring the offensive coordinator. Jackson naturally bristled, but who’s to say this ultimately wasn’t Dorsey’s call?

If it wasn’t his call, it would be hard for him to push back. With Jackson serving in both capacities, the Browns didn’t win a single game.

He's going to the Browns because of his reputation for having an abrasive nature.

The new years incident couldn't have come at a worst time for him, it guaranteed that he would end up somewhere like Cleveland. It's sad really.

Yeah, my heart is bleeding for him, 4th and 1 pitch Todd. I think he has a good scheme, and there are some good plays, but situationally, that dude sucked ***.

Hue Jackson: No one told me to hire an offensive coordinator

Browns coach Hue Jackson insisted it was his decision to hire Todd Haley and relinquish play-calling duties to the new offensive coordinator.

“No, let me say this and let me go on record and you guys can write this: No one ever told me I needed to hire an offensive coordinator,” Jackson said, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. “I could still be calling the plays for the Cleveland Browns. That is what I thought was best for us.

“I made a decision that I thought the best thing for me to do was to become the CEO of this organization in that way. No one forced me, no one asked me and no one told me I had to. This was my decision and what I thought was best for us moving forward. Did I lean on people to ask them advice? Yes, I did. Was John Dorsey one of those people? Yes, he was. Was Jimmy Haslam one of those people? Yes, he was. That is what you do. You use your resources, but nobody, no one, whether it is John or Jimmy, ever told me that this is what I needed to do. Nobody.”

Jackson called the plays the past two seasons.

Oh I agree his play calling was questionable at times...if it was him at those times. I saw Tomlin several times during the season meddling with the play calling, yes during the jags game as well. Add Ben to the mix...and it's scapegoat time.

Haley was staying out of trouble then the incident on new years which from all accounts he didn't incite, came along. That's all I'm saying.

I am NOT saying he was a great play caller.
 
Here's the prop bet for the Browns next year. What happens first:

1) Browns win a game
2) Haley involved in a bar fight

Since it's Cle, I think the odds go toward #2, and might happen before the season starts!

Yeah I agree on the play calling, but the irony (and hypocrisy) in all this is that Ben wanted Haley gone because of his gruff disciplinarian nature.

Yet, he wants Tomlin to be the exact same way to the other guys that are not him...........................WHAT? SERIOUSLY BEN?

I'll give him that the younger guys need it more, and Haley is known for being a jackass when it's not needed, but still.
 
The Browns still won’t have a decent QB. But they will have the beat RB in the league and he will almost single handily make Haley look good.

Browns win 5 games next year.

Might have to up you one to 6 but also know I haven't looked at the schedule yet. It's not because of Haley but he will help along with the fact that they have a 1 & 4 overall. When you combine that fact one still has to Remeber it is the Browns but it's hard to go 0-16 two in a row.

My take is that Haley wasn't a big disciplinarian, just an ******* in general to everybody. The other offensive coaches didn't like him either.
 
Haley was a ****** Prick. He was disliked in KC and he was disliked here. They came out the exact same way every game. FLAT AS A PANCAKE. And those are your scripted plays. He never played contact football. Good ridence. Ive hated him the last three years minimum.
