Internet Thinks Refs Helped Pats

I’ve noticed that too. They used to replay every penalty or potential penalty and recently they have stopped, just move on in the game. I wonder if that’s at NFL request because they don’t want to be second guessed. Too late.

so to sum up this game
2 huge penalties give pats a TD before half when they needed it most.
That was not pass interference. The Jags CB ran a better route than the WR, had position, looked back for ball and it was uncatchable anyway.
Refs blow the play dead after Myles Jack rips ball away. Should have been a Jags TD and backbreaker.
Pats win game on an obvious hold on a run play. Uncalled of course.
 
I believe Jack would have been down. That was a pretty crazy play. Pretty hard to call that one. Clear helmet to helmet on Gronk. He was gonna drop it anyways. Wasnt PI. Just tge sheer volume of no calls be it holding, illegal contact, PI. Its astonishing. You can coach your team to avoid dumb penalties. Pretty hard to avoid action penalties like those listed. Part of the game.

Jack was never touched while he had possession of the ball, he didn't gain possession until he was on his back on the ground, that's a TD.
The PI on AJ late in the 2nd was pure trash, hell Cooks is the one that shoved him.
There were two plays, both 3rd downs where Lewis was held and tackled before the ball got there, obvious missed calls.
The Patriots first FG drive I think, their LT had his hand on the bottom of the DE's facemask and had the guys facemask point to the sky, but no illegal hands to the face, right in front of the ref.
Amendola walked over to Gilpin and clearly head butted him after a play right in front of the ref.
 
I'm still angry at the officials not calling holding when Ju-ju just missed the catch on 4th down. It forces us to punt and changed the outcome of the game.

New England will always get the calls. Its pretty bad.

OK, here is a quick look at 2017 per game penalty stats:

NFL Average: 6.87 for 59 yards
Patriots Average: 6.25 for 55 yards
Patriots Opponents Average: 7.94 for 75 yards

Patriots vs Steelers:
Patriots 2 for 4 yards
Steelers 6 for 63 yards

Patriots Playoffs
Patriots 2.5 for 23.5 yards
Opponents 8 for 80 yards

So do the Patriots opponents just commit significantly more penalties and the Patriots commit less in big games (as well as the regular season) or is something rotten in the NFL?
 
Well if you include Pats Steelers as a playoff it was 1 pen vs. Steelers for 5 yards. I for 10 against the Titans that mattered. They suddenly got calls against them in garbage time. Hmmm. And 1 for 10 yesterday.

I don't know if the pros are the same, but I mentioned this phenomenon to my neighbor once, who is a high school football coach. Why so many more penalties in playoff games? He said that they grade the refs during the regular season and the better ones get the playoff games. "Better" meaning ones who catch and see more things, so you get more flags.

But that doesn’t explain the Patriots being called for less penalties in the playoffs.

Exactly. The refs know which way Rog wants the calls to go.

I heard somewhere that they had like 24 scoring drives assisted by penalty this season. Not sure how that compares to the rest of the league, but it sounds like a high number for 16 games.

Everyone is just jealous of how immensely great they are. They're light years ahead of the mere mortals who challenge them. You can't even copy it.All of those hall of famers on both sides of the ball.They make those 70's Steeler teams look weak and pathetic. Joe Montana can't hold Brady's jock. Hahahahaha...I cant even type this **** with a straight face.
 
The calls at the right time for the cheats, and then calls against them when the game is decided. The TDs taken away from opponents, and the same TD good for the cheats.

Here's the deal. The nfl has it in for them as if it will make the nfl better. They are wrong, and I'm tired of caring about my team when I know that they won't get an honest chance to get the ring.

The Steelers these last two years are WAY more talented than the cheats, but that makes zero difference now that the powers that be are already giving to the cheats.

I just can't watch anymore. I just don't care. This league sucks. They lost a VERY enthusiastic fan, who started two fan clubs, dozens of fan rallies, and has traveled for a bunch of games, had players over to my house, etc.

I'm just done. Sorry nfl. You suck and I'm over you.

It's NOT just the assist on the chearer's scoring drives but what about the opponents scoring drive stalls on penalties???? This is the deal breaker.

LOL, did he have anything to say about the regular season calls from Riveron that gave them home field to begin with?

Yeah, that "homefield" advantage was big when the ******* Patsies were called for 4 yards in penalties against the Steelers ...

Where damn near every goddamn Steelers pass was accompanied by a Patsy defender yanking on Brown's jersey, or pulling Bryant's arm, or pulling Rogers' jersey, or pulling JJSS' jersey, or hitting the receiver before the ball arrived.

I am with DJ at this point. **** the Patriots. **** the NFL. **** the shitbowl. **** them all.
