Anyone else wonder if Brucie Ariens is drooling over Ben not getting an extension going into this contract year? What are the odds that he makes a run at getting Ben in Pittsburgh West.

Ben is under contract next year and if they don't reach a deal--which would be completely ridiculous--they can franchise him. He will be in Pittsburgh at least for the next two beyond this one.

Already news from the steelers, Ben will get a contract next year. Both parties have already discussed this. The Salary cap will be larger, and they will have signed or extended many of their players already. Many of the players will be in their last year this year Ben is still under contract till next year.

ABSOLUTELY zero!!!

Salute the nation

Save this thread for next year. Ben will be in his contract year then...

That's what I was thinking. A couple weeks ago I mistakenly though this was Ben's last year wondered if he was willing to move west. Especially if the Steelers sucked, again, this year. The Rooney's are going to have to blast open their wallets to pry out some cash.

Ben has repeatedly said he DOES NOT WANT TO PLAY FOR ANYONE ELSE !

I rather doubt that the Cards could afford Ben under the cap since they already have to pay Larry Fitz. It would be a formidable combo but dammit, The Bruce still needs to pay 9 other players on offense and 11 on defense.

The Steelers never negotiate contracts after the season begins. Why would anyone think they would start now?
Why does this thread even exist?

we just have Heyward and Worlids to deal with now, hopefully Worlids can sign a decent deal in the 7-8 mill avg range.

Right now, Worilds is not worth anywhere near 7 to 8 million. He has done nothing in 3 games to show he was worth tagging. Right now, I'd only be willing to pay him maybe $5 million per year. He needs to step it up several notches to be worth 7 to 8 million.

yeap let Worilds go. Let's go CB, OLB, TE on the next draft

Worilds is showing why I am glad they didn't reach a long-term deal this offseason. Invisible for large stretches of time.
