He said he would go there if he was needed and it was the only team that wanted him. He said he would not go there to be window dressing. I didn't hear him say anything about how he'd act like a douchebag throughout the season.

People were "pissy" THE MOMENT HE SIGNED, not after they found out about him not helping the young guys, sleeping in meetings, etc.

Right Most folks were pissy with HOW he went about it. We have had former Steelers (including Harrison) leave and go to the Patriots, Ravens, Bengals and Browns before. No one has ever had the least issue.
The only people who it has remotely been an issue with were Harrison and Blount, who both left under similar circumstances.

If Harrison is in the game ....Pats are probably up a few scores late in the game. I'm hoping the game never gets to that point if/when we play them again this season.

That’s the issue I had as you mentioned about the head coach stringing him along. That’s what’s being lost with the Harrison debacle. I agree with others that James acted inappropriately when he didn’t get his snaps but it started with Tomlin promising him 25% of the snaps before he signed his deal and continued with Tomlin telling him he was going to use him. I can see why James got upset and felt lied to but do not agree with his behavior. The Coach should have handled the situation and didn’t until it got out of hand.

Bullshit... The Steelers saves Bettis career and he saved them in return. Harrison was left for dead a few times. With the Steelers his greatness may have never happened.

The Coach put the best guys on the field....he did what he had to do. Some here ***** if our HC wouldn't do that. Every football player knows the game and how it is. You can't tell me a guy who has played as long as Harrison didn't know this possibility might not have played out the way it has. Its called football. Some deal with it as a professional .....others not so much.
Cowher told Maddox he was starting in 2004, he got hurt and Ben started, Maddox never got his job back. We didn't have Watt and we had no idea he'd be that good when Tomlin told Harrison how much he'd play

Exactly! What if another team had drafted Watt first, and the Steelers then took a CB, we'd have needed Harrison to play a lot. No one knew how the draft would play out when Harrison signed. The Steelers might draft a TE. Does that mean that they should let The Outlaw, or McDonald walk in February? If they did that, and the draft unfolded in a way that left them without a solid TE, all of these same guys would be bitching and complaining about not keep the guys who were already here.

It was Harrison's only option. He wanted to play, the Steelers (Tomlin) "PLAYED HIM", and he moved on.
