Deebo Return????? He just posted on instagram

He's not coming back to start. He's coming back for depth. And, it has the added benefit of him being in the building to impart his knowledge of the defense and attitude to the younger and/or new LBs. At the very least, he can give pointers on execution and technique to Moats; who I hope continues to flash and replaces Worilds for a cheaper price next year. Hell, maybe he can give Jones and Shazier the number of his acupuncturist so they can get some treatment to speed up the healing process (sarcasm - kinda).

Dumb in every conceivable manner.

He has nothing left.
Sending the wrong message in terms of domestic violence.
Someone mentioned the penalties.

But I guess signing and/or extending washed-up vets has become The Steeler Way.

yet your beloved still has Thuggs on their active roster and you opine on this.
****. you.

I've always pegged you as a front-runner, so whomever it is...

What's the point of this? He was finished years ago.

And is this really the right message to be sending in this era of domestic violence awareness?

I understand, you don't watch the Steelers, being a rat bag and all, but we lost 3 Defensive starters Sunday. Silverback knows the scheme and is likely healthy (for now). Personally, I like what I've seen from Moats in his limited snaps....but I think the Old Man still has some sacks in him and can still motivate (scare) teammates....but then, why am I talking Steeler football to a ratbags?

Depth is the only reason it makes sense. Having a backup LB who already knows the system is important for if another LB goes down to injury. I'm sure there are other, better, younger options to fill that void, but Harrison is not that far removed from his playing days and at least can catch up to speed on LeBeau's complicated and archaic schemes. I think it's ludicrous to believe that his presence on the field is instantly going to make the team better, but his presence on the sidelines wouldn't be the severe drop off in talent that some people think it is.

Oddly, you haven't replied to any of the most recent news coming out of Baltimore.

Joe

Sure I have. I just don't drone on and on about it because I don't waste much time worrying about what's going on in Baltimore.

For all those who haven't been paying attention and say Deebo has nothing left:

IMO, he will be our best OLB, IMO. He is stronger than anyone on our team and healthy.

A healthy Kevin Greene had 27 sacks at ages 36 and 37. OLB is not a CB where loss of pure speed takes its toll...sometimes.

He graded out better than our LBs in his last year at Cinci according to PFF. He had more sacks and tackles in half the playing time of our #1 ROLB (while playing as a 2-down WLB)

If he gets on the field in a 'spot/relief' role, he will be even stronger and quicker than he was in his last 2 years here, IMO.

I'm old too and I don't know ANYONE on our team who squats sets @ 600#. (casey could but he's gone)

IF he gets on the field, I estimate he will have better production than ANY of our LBs (inside or outside) as it relates to sacks and tackles/play.

It is foolish to dismiss his dedication/drive/motivation simply due to his age, IMO.

We shall see....

I'm sure your most immediate concerns are weather or not, your mom locked the basement door.

I hope you are right.....Debo is one of my all time favs.......Makes me wonder then.......Why was he not here to begin with?

I also wonder how he will be utilized by the coaching staff, in other words was this a FO signing and is the coaching staff on board?

Remember when we brought back Max Starks and the coaches did not seem to be on the same page with the FO?

We kept trotting out Jonathan Scott................

That's strange, you seemed very interested when you were professing the innocence/ignorance of the Ravens org. Troll.

Exactly, coach on the field, motivator, and if he can play 10 or 15 snaps a game I am happy. I see how he plays the run and pass the first game in and decide from there what I want him to do. If it looks like he lost that dip and swim move I wouldn't play him on passing down. But if he can still get under the pads of the OT and stretch the run to his side to help in the running game I play him on running downs. Or if he doesn't seem to have the brute strength he once did but still can get the edge I play him on passing downs. I think Moats gets about 90%+ of the snaps at this point but Debo gives us depth and hopefully a few good snaps a game. And remember he was awesome in special teams in his first few seasons maybe he is willing to help on punt and kick coverage.

There is no reason not to bring him back. It isn't as if they signed him to a huge contract. If he works out then great, if not then they haven't really lost anything.

^^^ The ONLY reason which makes sense to me is "we picked this kid at #16 and cannot have a 36 year old guy we offered to pay less come in here and show us we were wrong on our eval". FWIW

His last year with the Steelers he was coming off a back injury. He still played better than Worilds and Jones. So I like it, he'll be able to contribute as a pass rusher. I think his attitude is needed in locker room as well.

I agree with you. I love the move. I think the only thing we have to worry about is how he's going to do when dropping back into coverage. His last year with the Steelers that area of his game seemed to drop offf a bit. Maybe his back injury had something to do with it.

His last year with the Steelers Jones was still lining up for Georgia.

Why did't we hire Ray Lewis??? He's available!! -Hollywood Drags

I'm glad I stopped watching the NFL...this is a train wreck.
