The Steelers came to play tonight. We lost Ike his replacement did not look nearly as good, We lost Shazier, Spence looked good and made some plays. We lost Jones and his replacement looked good, Moats got a SACK! Jones did cause a fumble by keeping after it. Foster was out and his replacement Wallace looked good.

The game plan was patient and not as productive as hoped in the first half but worked and was slowly going to win the game. After a couple of turn overs slowly was tossed out the window. Until it was time to down the ball at the end the team did not let up.

The team maybe coming together. The coaches maybe getting on the same page. Tomlin maybe getting it finally. The team looked ready to play and they did not give up. Early adversity did not make them fold. The play mix was good, not all of them worked but sometimes you have to remember the other guys are good enough to get paid too.

This was obviously an above the line performance and we embrace that. We will celebrate this win and then go back to the lab so we can embrace our opportunity to improve for the next week and try and stack wins together. We do not want to continue to win one and loose one it is obvious that will not get you into the playoffs, and we embrace that challenge.

Maybe they just need ten days to prepare for every game?

Tampa scares the **** out of me. This is the type of garbage team that we usually make look all world...

Who knows. Maybe Mr Tomlin is learning his job.

Great game. I'll wait for a string of consistent games before I start feeling all giddy, though.

That's it exctly....which team shows up. I'm beginning to appreciate the talent we have despite all the criticism of Tomlin's drafts. BUT...can they string some impressive wins together? Can they show up ready to play and look energized instead of taking the field looking like they just ate a plate full of biscuits and gravy with soda and ice cream for desert.

THe OL played well (for a change). Perhaps now after two/three games Munchaks coaching is starting to make a difference!

Oh, and the Steelers finally got some big penalties called in their favor. Amazing what happens when Rooney is on the panel that will determine Rog's fate.

We have to cut the mistakes. Another 10 penalties. We clean that up, and we'll be in a better position to win games.

When our guys show up ready to play, they are a pretty good football team. I'm tired of all of the bashing of the coaches. These guys are professionals, they shouldn't need some rah rah crap to get them pumped up. The play of both lines in my opinion is what won us the game. Great blocking up front, and the d-line consistently collapsed the pocket. We need to string a couple of good games in a row together before I'm ready to consider us being a playoff team. But they showed last night that they can be very good even with the penalties and the injuries.Hope this was the defining game for our team.

We KNOW this team has it in 'em (to play great) as evident from the first half of the Browns game and the second half of his last one.

We beat a good team last night on the road...and team that hadnt lost at home in over a year. Thats one good defensive unit we slaughtered with the run. They wont allow that kinda yardage again anytime soon so i tip my hat to our Oline and the Haley for stickin with it and not tryin to get too cute and complex.

Next week cometh a desperate team and a dangerous game.....but im hopeful things are falling into place and we are developing chemistry with all the new parts

**** you. You ************* don't wait a few games to come crawling out of the woodwork when we lose, but we win and it's all "wait and see" blah blah blah.

Joe

Chomp down on em Joe......... #thumbsup

I think Bags is a Ravens fan. Never anything positive to say about the Steelers, defends Ravens a lot.

Gotta say I was happy as hell with the W. I've been hard on Tomlin all week on the boards, and I still think he has deserved the criticism for the most part. But he also gets props for having the boys ready last night. Prime time is not usually our strong point, and going on the road against a good team and lighting them up is a great sign. Let's keep it up against the not-so-good teams in the near future as well, keep that needle pointing up

Well, Boo ******* Hoo, and why don't you just go ahead and CROWN 'EM?

I understand your being cynical, but you really do need to get a place of your own or maybe you mama's boy friend is going to get you mixed up with her and bang yaz sometime...
Maybe that's what your hoping for, you keep coming back?

Salute the nation

Steelers are Jekyll and Hyde right now. We will see.

Steelers are a relatively young team in a rebuilding process. Be ready for inconsistency By the way which of the first 3 games did they not come out prepared?

I don't come here and go on and on forever about how amazing they were in every facet of the game. I don't sped over 100 pages of a thread telling everyone how a guy who hasn't taken a snap in the NFL is going to be the next hall of fame player. I don't come here saying every assistant we have should be a head coach, because they are all that good.

I come here and state that we had a good win. This was against a team that many were saying we wouldn't win, due to them having what is supposed to be a very good defense. A supposedly very good defense that we did indeed run all over.

Those are facts. I can't tell you if we'll win another ******* game this year. I think we will, but ****, I sure don't know. What I do know is when we win, I enjoy it, and when we lose, I do not. I think the reverse is most likely true for you.

Oh, and how is that "the Ravens didn't know" thing working out for ya?

Joe

Munchak's coaching is likely making a big difference. Gillbert talked about correcting a mistake regarding his foot work and he played much better. It looks like fine tuning the skill set of these guys might just make them much better than many of us thought. Some of the combination blocks were things of beauty. Getting two on one to drive them off the line and then shielding another defender from the play is a fantastic bit of work. Exactly what happened on the 81 yard run by Bell.

It might be the new key to drafting, draft someone with a B in his name somewhere, they turn out pretty good.
