Everyone is thinking it, Yahoo Power Rankings says it...

Anyone see the bit that FOX Sports did with the Ref and Steelers fan ?

I saw Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless debating it.

I would have asked Shannon how many of his "catches" would he be asking the NFL to void from this records?

I expect he would have muddled through "But the rules were different." Ya. Because the league wasn't working quite so hard to control the outcomes.

Shannon Sharpe has been a tool for quite sometime now. He doesn't seem to watch the games and goes for his personal favorites or what ever he thinks will drive his ratings
going forward. Skip is a douche bag azzhat who finally gets something right. I don't base my conclusions on anything these guys say at all.

If Skip and Shannon are featured on ESPN, there's a reason why that network is leaking ratings like a sinking ship...

Lol. I did too. One of my best stories EVER!

I call it, "Dr. Hausman Hates Me!"

Short Version. (I'm terrible at short versions of anything...)

I was taking Linguistics from Dr. Hausman, chair of the Linguistics Dept. It was part of my major as an English and French double. Anyway, Hausman had assigned a term-long team project. And being a young ****-up I pretty much blew the entire thing off. I did very well in the rest of my course work but I literally completely spaced out my team term project until about 2 weeks before the end of the term. Then I called one of the girls on the team, a friend of mine, and said "****, I forgot the project!" She said, "Ya, we know. It's done. We'll put your name on it and you can present with us."

Now, if I was a complete ****-heel I could have done that and walked out with an easy B. But I had an attack of conscience. So I told her "No, I'd tell Hausman I'd ****** up." I did. And he FREAKED out. Told me I was a waste of skin. I'd never heard an "adult" say that. He said it like it was a real thing. Like I was actually, literally a waste of skin. He said he had 20 some odd kids in his class who wanted to be teachers or writers and then there was ME. Completely useless. He told me I should transfer after the term (The Spring term, by the way) because he would personally see to it that I never graduated from the University. Of course he advised I quit coming to class immediately.

I didn't take him all THAT seriously. I knew he was going to flunk me. I kept coming to class, took the final and sure enough, he gave me an F. I had to retake Linguistics the following Fall Semester. I considered my options that summer. I really had been just ******* around. I could get Cs and Bs literally without even opening a book in my English and even my French classes. I made no effort whatsoever. After what Hausman told me I started to seriously think about what I was going to do when I graduated. Due to a number of things I was a 6 year student. All this happened at the end of my Jr. year. So I buckled down. I did NOT get Hausman for Linguistics in the fall. Not because I avoided him. I really didn't think he was that serious. It was just a scheduling thing.

For the final 3 years of my college education, I did not receive a B. Every single grade was an A. In the end I graduated with a respectable GPA and majors in English, French and a certification in Education. Later I would add a Masters degree as well. And throughout I would never get anything below an A. I don't mention this to point out that I'm particularly bright or anything like that. It was merely that what Hausman said to me actually hit home. I HAD been a waste of skin. I COULD do much better. And honestly, I could do so without a great deal of effort.

And so, I went through graduation. In order to graduate in English, French and Education, you need the department chairs in your areas to sign off. Hausman was one of those. Thus he must have softened. For there I was, receiving my diploma. Afterward, I saw him and went up to shake his hand. I told him as I walked up how much I appreciated his "Scared Straight" talk, and that it really helped me focus on my studies and my future. I reached out my hand and he looked at me with as condescending an eye as a man can muster. He said, "I didn't sign off on your graduation. You have friends in the French department."

He HAD to have known that I'd had straight A's since that single F. He must have because he was given my application to graduate. But. Dr. Hausman hates me. As it was, he was correct. I did have friends in the French Department. As Dr. Hausman rejected my application, that left me in limbo. I literally was about to be denied graduation from the University. But my French prof (And the dept. chair), Dr Rolfe got together with the English Chair and they tracked down the French Linguistics professor. She signed off on my graduation and between the French Chair, the English Chair and the Education Chair they overruled Dr. Hausman's protests. After all, a linguistics prof HAD signed off on my graduation, and clearly my grades were more than sufficient. And most obviously of all, Dr. Hausman was harboring an irrational grudge against a student that he'd only had in one class three years before and whom he himself had never formally protested against beforehand.

That was one ANGRY dude. But my friend. The one who offered to put my name on the project and let me present? She became an author and Dr. Hausman LOVES her. He is to her what Dr. Rolfe was and is to me. It's a weird world. I somehow pissed that dude OFF. I'm just glad I did indeed "have friends in the French Department."

So the cookbook will be bilingual?

evidemment!

And with my extensive linguistics background, you will undoubtedly have pronunciation guides for all the ingredients you don't recognize.
