Tomlin presser

duh, you want us to coach that up for you too?

Mike Tomlin undecided on whether to play starters on Sunday

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, aware that his team doesn’t control whether it’s the No. 1 seed or the No. 2 seed in the AFC, said he might rest his starters on Sunday against the Browns.

“I’m undecided as I stand here right now,” Tomlin said. “It’s obvious that those types of discussions are in play.”

The Browns are ready to end their season. Don't let them have their lone win. Pull the starters by Q4, once the Steelers have the lead by 7 or more points.

I don't think this team wants to give the Browns their lone win of the season. There's a balance for keeping our guys crisp and also keeping them from getting injured. If we play all our starters and someone gets hurts, this place is going to tear Tomlin apart.

No reason we can't get up by 17-20pts by halftime and then rest the starters.

**** that, we are trying to win the SB not worry about the ******* Browns....one series to let them get active, then bench all the critical starters.

Strategically, you play the starters til the Patriots game is out of hand.

You won't see the Cheatriots resting starters. Way too many teams that have the bye and also take an extra week off by resting starters come out slow in their first game and many lose. The Steelers have a history of starting slow in games. For me, the starters need to play at least the first half.

Of course they won't, they need to win that game vs. the Jets for home field.

You play the starters until it is clear the Jets are going to lose. If the Steelers rested their starters and forfeited the game only to see the Jets upset the Patriots, they would essentially forfeit home field advantage.

But it would be another Tomlin "classic"............
