Best case playoff scenarios for Steelers

Flame me all you want....as long as Brady is on that team the Steelers will never go in to Gillette Stadium in January and beat the Cheats. It's become mental now for the Steelers and the Cheats will never have important calls go against them. I see a 14 point plus win for the Pats if the teams do meet up for the AFC championship. Our only hope is KC or Baltimore taking them out.

I see the Steelers cleaning up their coverage scheme against Gronk and continue their offensive success. Hopefully AB will be on the field and the Steelers win by double digits.

Doesn't matter much if and when the Jets lose to the Pats***** this weekend. We cannot win in Foxboro. Neither does anyone else 99% of the time but the Pats***** are the Steelers' kryptonite.

The Steelers need to get the Pats mystique out of their heads.
Yes the Pats have had a ton of success, but they are not some unbeatable force.

The Steelers are young, a lot of guys are still kinda fresh to this Steelers/Pats history.

Just go in with a win mentality. If the team starts psyching themselves that NE has their number, then they'll overthink and micro analyze every play.

I think the fans are the only ones that have it at this point. The Steelers didn't seem the least bit worried against New England a couple of weeks ago. The offense was aggressive and they were a poor game plan against Gronk away from winning that game.

The Jags have the more interesting scenario = rest starters, lose to the Titans and see them again at home or beat them and likely face the Chargers instead

They’ve never beaten a Brady / Bellichick Patriots team anywhere in the playoffs. The Patriots rarely lose at home in the playoffs. The odds are severly against them. I can see them going in and being so confused when their hesdsets go off, while everyone and their mother knows it will happen.

Radio reporting today that Br*dy has lost two playoff games at home, ever.

The best case? Tomlin yells to the ref that James knee was down before the ball hit the ground, and its a clear touchdown. Then we have home field.

The worst case, Tomlin releases a disgruntled but wise veteran defender, who lands on New England.

The funny thing is I still think we have the most talent of the bunch.

Jags are a tougher out than the PAts. Jags have a D and a rushing attack. Pats are soft on both sides of the ball. I know who I'd rather see in the playoffs, too bad we'll probably have to face both in the playoffs.

QB play is probably the biggest factor in the playoffs, rarely do teams with below average to average advance deep in the playoffs.
Pats with Tom Brady are always going to be a tougher out than a Jags team with Bortles. Not to mention we're talking Patriots in NE.
Jags are a tough team but come on now.

So if you are JAX, do you play hard and beat TEN this weekend and get the Chargers? Or let TEN win and get them in wildcard.....

I hear you, but they beat us handily with their **** QB. I will say, the only way we lose to JAX is to give them extra possessions. Their O is not good enough to beat us staraght up. And hell we were still in the game after the first pick 6. The second was the nail. Their D is good enough to get extra possessions, but we have to be smarter and a bit more conservative. Hit the spots. Play action and lots of Bell. That's how you advance.

If we're talking best case playoff scenario mine is that Harrison was a plant on the Cheats roster. He somehow manages to accidentally break Brady in practice putting him out for at least a few months...oops! Now that **** would be priceless, maybe just drop 400 lbs on Brady's foot in the weight room or something like that. Perfect start to best case playoff scenario.

Stop stealing my stuff!

I'd let the Titans win

DeMarco Murray dealing with torn MCL

DeMarco Murray's knee injury is a "third degree" MCL tear. (full tear)

The Patriots lost two out of eight home games this season, Ron. Chiefs and Panthers. Steelers are better than both of those teams.

Hell even the AFCCG last year, it was 17-9 at halftime without Bell and two dropped TDs and a TD called back on James, we moved the ball, just had no one at wr to make a play as AB was doubled. Our wr's minus AB were Eli, Coates, Hamilton, I think DHB got hurt in that game

We have Haden back, Sutton with more reps. Will have AB back. McDonald back.

I would say there is even enough pieces back to where it should be a even harder match up the second time around. If it takes place.

I think Haden being back, might allow us to put a CB on Gronk. I don't know if any are big enough, but Hilton made a couple plays vs him. When they line Gronk up as a wide out, I'd seriously think about putting a CB on him, he can't out run any of our CBs.

I agree. I think you have to take a page out of cheats approach. You take away their best player. Double Gronk the entire game. Davis underneath a corner over the top.

Play man every where else.

Heyward/Tuitt/Hargrave will need to apply pressure.Often.

Hell, I'd put Haden on Gronk. It's not like their WRs are killing us...

Or Hilton, he did well, but he'd need help over the top.

Have any teams done this?

Hmmm...I don't like the 'defend Gronk w/ a DB' idea.

IMO, Gronk makes his money getting off the line. That being said - we've got two weeks to get both Buddy and TJ ready at 'press coverage' on Gronk. Once the press is applied, enter "Sean Davis". Coverage over the top will be the key to success.

What does that open up???

RB's in the flats and in routes against our slower ILBs...enter Big Play Willie Gay. Gonna need BPWG shadowing the little shifty RB's on the *'s all day...

Formation of choice - Big Dime: Tuitt (DE) Hargrave (NT) Heyward (DE) *Dupree/Watt (ILB) Williams (ILB) Burns (DB) Hilton (DB) Gay (DB) Mitchell (FS) Davis (SS)

*rotating all day

Just my two cents...

Gronk needs his steroid induced *** hit at the line as often as possible and t*mmylancebr*dy needs hit every chance possible. Disrupt either or both and it's easier from that point on.

Salute the nation

I still think the best move is to have Watt cover Gronk.
