VP of Officiating has a hand in 3 Cheats wins.....

Ben yelled clock it, everyone on our O is ready for the clock it play, then Haley calls in to run a play, there's no time to huddle, just hand signal a wr to run a route. Yeah after the play is over it's easy to say throw it away, but Eli broke open, Ben throws to him and then Eli is grabbed, turned, and the db uses Eli to pull himself into position to get to the ball, but hey why let that part into the conversation, that takes away from the "blame Ben" crowd.

Its easy to say during the play too when you notice the play fooled no one. Especially if you make it a point to say you wanted to clock it before the play. But the gunslinger clicked in and i can live with that. It makes him who he is

Brain dead QB blows game for Steelers

Steelers Blow Game Against Patriots Thanks To Moronic Play By Ben Roethlisberger

Just what the hell was Ben Roethlisberger thinking?

With time running down late in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ contest with the New England Patriots on Sunday, the Steelers had third and goal with time running out Roethlisberger made one of the most bone-headed plays I’ve ever seen.

The Steelers were trailing the Pats 27-24 and had the ball on the seven yard-line with the clock running. Rather than spike the ball, bring out the kicker for a chip shot and head to overtime, Roethlisberger decided to go for the old “fake spike” play and tried to win the game.

As he dropped back, Eli Rogers was the only receiver in the pattern, and he ran a slant instead of a fade. There’s no way of knowing if he was supposed to do that, but as soon as it happened, Roethlisberger should have just thrown the ball away and played for overtime. Instead, he tried to force the ball to a covered receiver in a crowded area.

Yep, a game-sealing interception on a thrown that never should have been made.

That’s just a bone-headed play. You have to throw that ball away. There’s no excuse for that and it may have cost the Steelers home field advantage in the postseason.

And of course, NO mention of Rogers being held.

Well he was asked about it after the game, it didn't sound like he was throwing anyone under the bus, just saying what happened, nothing more, nothing less, people get way over sensitive on that.

3-0 in favor of the Cheats this season on game deciding replays? why am I not surprised. Everyone, unless the league investigates and corrects this, the Steelers or anyone else will never win a close game with the Cheats when there's a reviewable call like this and the game is on the line, or non calls like when our receiver is grabbed by a Cheats defender on the last play, Cheats will always get bailed out. Then the Cheats fans and Massholes will keep chiming in about how everyone is whining and denying the Cheats greatness, how we should just accept a Cheats Lombardi every year with no questions. Not having AB held us back, we can only hope that we get a bye week to get fully healthy for our playoff run, and if we face them again that were loaded with enough talent that we can run up the score and bad calls by the replay official won't make a difference. Unless the league corrects it, expect more of the same garbage. Does anyone doubt that Gronk would've had that catch upheld?

I told you. The moment you actually begin to believe the game is fixed, it ruins it for you completely. Because then you start to wonder about all the great storylines.

Kurt Warner, from store clerk to SB MVP...

From 9/11 to Patriot SB in just 4 months...

Jerome Bettis, retiring after playing his last game in his home town...

Greatest Comeback in SB history...

Sorry. It's a dark deep rabbit hole. And all you need to do is follow the money. What story line is going to draw the biggest ratings for the big game.

This year will it be:

T*m Br*dy wins HIstoric 6th Superbowl

or

Steelers overcome tragedy and adversity because they're "forged in Steel".

or

The Sun Shines in Los Angeles AGAIN!

It all depends on the ratings. Truly it does. If you can accept that, you can sleep better at night. The players aren't "in on it". Sure the P*ts cheat like *************. But there's a level of manipulation with the rules and their verbiage (as stated in an earlier post) that allows the league to interpret any catch any way they want. And that allows things like the Houston / P*ts game to count as a TD while the Steelers / P*ts game wasn't. And that was the same guy making the ruling. It's all about the agenda.

The stakes are higher, the drama a little greater. Stay tuned for this episode of "The Games of our Lives."

Cris Carter talks Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots after their Week 15 game.
Hide Transcript
- I didn't learn anything. I knew Pittsburgh, before the game started, was the better team. I knew they had better personnel. Top to bottom, I would take their roster over New England's roster.

But I'm not taking the quarterback. I'm not taking Ben Roethlisberger. You know the reason why? Listen to the press conference.

Oh, Todd Haley, he told me. I wanted to do something else, but he told-- Tom Brady wouldn't even would have said that. You know, they would just would have moved on. That commentary was not even needed. From a guy that's been to three Super Bowls, that-- that was not needed.

JENNA WOLFE: What does that tell you about Ben Roethlisberger?

- Well, I know a lot more about Ben than other people, but don't make excuses. You're driving the car, throw the ball away. He had plenty of time to be able to do that.

So no, I'm not surprised by the talent. I'm not surprised that New England would make some type of play at the end to be able to win the game. That's how they've won their five Super Bowls. None of those Super Bowls have been blowouts.

JENNA WOLFE: Right.

- And most of the time, the team that they played in the Super Bowl was better than them. So I've seen this happen so many times. They don't make excuses. They just make more plays at the end of the game, and that's what we were able to see. Ben tried to win the game, which in turn forced them to lose the game. He should have settled for the field goal, get the game to overtime. Then the discussion is totally different.

But are they more talented? No, but it's not a game of talent. It's who is the best football team. New England's the best team in the AFC, that hadn't changed.

The bolded washow i felt which is why I boldedi it. Yeah i know Chris Carter is a nobody

No, Brady would just berate his OC, or another coach, or a ref on the field, and is Carter taking any QB over Brady?

And if it were NE, they would've let their QB do what he wanted to and spike it, not get in his ear when there's under 20 seconds.

They're not more talented than N.E.

That's the myth that the team has to get out of their minds. They're actually not all that talented at all.

Name me a position that the Steelers are the most talented at in the league right now.

Have the best RB, best WR, top 3 QB. The Dline is hard to evaluate because of the 3-4, but I don't know many better 3-4 DEs.

RB: The following running backs have better yards per carry than Leveon's and they have sufficient carries to make that a realistic comparative stat. Leveon simply has gotten the ball around 50 more times than the rest of them. Thus as a running back, the following can easily be considered at least as good or better than Bell.

Kareem Hunt
Todd Gurley
and
Jordan Howard

Of course you like Bell as a receiver also.

As a receiving back, Bell has done very well, but he's not done as well as the following guys.

Alvin Kamora of N.O.
Christian McCaffrey of S.D. (again, both players have sufficient catches to make them reasonable comprarables.)

So truthfully, Bell is great, but not best in EITHER category as a running back. He's just quite good.

By WR, I assume you mean Brown who is and will be on the couch for the next 3 weeks. So I would argue we do NOT have the best WR in the league right now.

As for QB, We've been SLAMMED for 2 days now about how inept the QB is here in Pittsburgh. Clearly he is NOT top 3. Some of our folks here seem to believe he's not #1 on our own roster.

So please everyone, continue.

How are the Steelers dominant personnel wise? I'm interested.

By God, I will FORCE you all to focus on the strengths of this team by pointing out its weaknesses.

And I want to be clear here. I'm not trying to tear down any of the Steeler players. I'm trying to demonstrate how stupid the nitpicking is.

This team is NOT perfect. They are NOT supremely talented. What they are is focused and driven and they are working together to overcome adversity each and every week.

That was a hella game last week and it didn't go the way any of us wanted. But we all need to move on and focus on Houston.

Because we DO have (in my opinion) one of the best QBs in the league. In fact I'd take him over anyone. He's my guy, bad decisions and all. I'm gonna ride with Ben all the way. I don't care if the car goes off the tracks cause it's going to be a hell of a ride.

We DO have the best "All Around" back in the league. (Yes, I nitpicked.) Bell is special. He may never break a huge run. But he will ALWAYS give you a chance and he's ALWAYS going to give the defense fits. I do love me some Bell and I wouldn't trade him for anybody else.

I have faith in Ju Ju and Martavis and even Eli. They know what they need to do. The next two weeks are huge. They have to go out and kick some butt. Martavis has to step up and become the man. He has GOT to be our threat right now. He made some great plays last week and I wish he could have been in the game more after Brown got hurt. Cause he was bringing it.

I do have faith in our "average line". They have good games and bad games. But when they're good they're a ******' rock. We need some rocks the next two weeks.

I have faith in our DL. They've been playing GREAT! I'm happy with them, truly happy with them.

I love our linebackers and how they keep fighting. Watt has slumped a bit but he keeps motoring. Dupree spends alot of time on milk boxes but then he appears right when you need him.

I continue to trust our secondary. They have been giving up plays, but I believe they can put together some complete games. Davis has played some good ball and if nothing else Mitchell can hit like a mack truck.

Win 2 more games and See what the NFL Gods want to happen at the end of the year.

Talented enough to where they should have won that game. And almost did.

Apples to Oranges on level of talent.

But there is enough talent on this roster to win a SB.
