Yes with a win we secure a bye and have to beat Houston or Cleveland to secure home field, but a hidden plus could be that beating NE may knock them down to #3. Jax is one game behind them, and has a pretty easy finish. Jax has two losses to the NFC, a loss to us would give NE 3 losses in the conference giving Jax the tiebreaker. That means NE opens at #3 having to play Baltimore or SD I'm guessing, then would have to go to Jax.

Confidence can be a fragile thing and a win on Sunday vs New England I think would give us the confidence the team needs to beat them in the playoffs. So to be this game isn't big, its HUGE.

As much as it's important for seeding and securing the #1 overall position, gaining confidence is huge for this team. It's the big monkey that has been on their back for very long. The longer they continue to dominate, the less confidence they have that they can beat NE. The game, for the Steelers, I feel, is huge!

I can't wait for the game. It's definitely going to have a playoff feel to it and rightfully so.
Won't be easy to beat them obviously, especially coming off a loss.

The confidence thing is very true, but if they drop to 3, I think they would have trouble going to Jax and stopping that running game and Jax defense is excellent in man coverage and rushing the passer, we may not see them a 2nd time

I agree with all the above statements but also realize this team just needs to keep facing what the schedule / week brings them. I'm sure CMVLT has made it quite clear who we play this week and I'm sure the players have etched their upcoming opponent in their schedulers / planners. We / they all know how important this game is and as it approaches the play offs the importance isn't forgotten. Big yes, insurmountable....NO

Pat* week. I expect many large font posts this week from you.

Its hard to beat Hoodie for a back to back loss... Gronk being out helped Miami a ton... They probably reused the gameplan from a couple weeks ago as coaches are want to do when faced with a short week of prep for a major game and used more time to prep for us.... so yes they likely overlooked Miami....

Winning this game is huge because it really locks in home field over the patserisks, and that cuts their cheaty options in a third at least.... and more importantly lets Ben have more control of the offense..

The keys are.....

1. Never let up on offense... not even with a thirty point lead...
2. Run the ball to draw in their safeties, cause you know tgey will be doubling us deep
3. Hit Brady often...
4. Play a safety or cb at ilb and don't play much zone...
5. Gronk has now shown he might be able to be goaded into a stupid retailtory penalty or even ejection... poke the bear early and often...

Didn't Bellicheck just lose to a team with a losing record on the road? That's unpossible for a good head coach...

I was amazed that Brady has a losing record in Miami. That would be like Ben having a losing record in Cincy...

Brady 17-3 @home in the playoffs

Brady 3-4 on the road in playoffs.

I would say that winning Sunday is more important than you perceive it to be........

I will give you the fact that this Pats team has some glaring weaknesses that may be exploitable even at Gillette.

We'll see.

Sunday is a must win if we want the road to the Super Bowl to go thru Pittsburgh. **** going thru Foxborough. Pats play the Bills and Jets week 15-16. Our window is closing Ben is not going to be around forever..

We absolutely can NOT have a playoff game in Foxboro.

which is why knocking them down to possibly the 3 seed would be so important......which was the point of the original post.....

having them have to host the rats and them go to jacksonville before a trip to Pittsburgh would be ******* huge......

No way in hell you want to go to fraudboro. Make them come here. If they can get past their opponent. Which could possibly be jax. That defense will be no easy task for anyone.

Wouldn't it be terrible if we had to play them in Fauxboro and there was a terrible terrible North Korean test EMP set off?

The pats***** wouldn't know what to do. They would be mere mortals. Hell I would actually like to take all of the radios away period. Maybe we could send a gift basket to katsung if the feds didn't kill him first...haha

That always lessens our chances, but the Steelers need to slay them somehow.
What team has the pats number?

I want to say the Giants, but Eli lobbed two miracle passes in both SB's.
The pats played them until the end.

Going around the board. I see the Dolphins. The Steelers need to look at some film

I could be wrong but I get the feeling that the Giants, we know they changed their signals for the Super Bowl games, and the Dolphins, since they see them twice a year, have found a way to minimize the Pats***** cheating but Tombert and the Steelers simply refuse to acknowledge it, at least publicly.
