Exactly what did the Ravens do to reduce Heyward and Tuitt to 1 tackle each?

While both Tuitt and Hewyard tipped a pass, each player was reduced to just one tackle.

Exactly what did the Ravens do to reduce Heyward and Tuitt contributions?

My fear is hoodie will do the same. When you best pass rusher ( Watt ) is in coverage often, the other first round pick MIA ( Dupree ) , you could afford to double Tuitt and Heyward. Is that what happened?

They ran the same stretch running play around the outside over and over, (which Bud was horribly out of position on every play).

Nobody had the speed to get to the edge to stop them.

They ran away from them, but they need to do a better job of working horizontally down the line

So with Dupree not able to hold the edge, why not play Harrison there? Sounds like Harbaugh kept punching the same play over and over and Butler and Tomlin lacked the counter punch.

This much is crystal clear. With Shazier out, the speed on the defense took a major hit. Spence is too slow at ILB. He had but 1 assisted tackle the entire game, a near impossibility for an ILB.

Something needs to be done, otherwise New England will do the same to us and more.

THEY FINALLY DID!

BUT IT WAS TJ in Buds spot.

Did you watch the last play of the game?

Harrison was back to his old position on the right side of the defense and TJ WAS MOVED TO BUD'S OLB on the LEFT!

It worked, just like I perdicted

Great post. I totally overlooked the play of our D line. I wonder what rats did to stymie them so well. We ddint get much of anything from them last night. Wonder if anything was lost in the defensive play calls without shazier We all know we miss his speed and awesomeness..

**** off coach

I think FORT is a more viable start than Spence or Moats. Time will tell and James Harrison won't be able to play a full game as cheaters will pass his way all day.

Defense is irrelevant - as long as Ben gets his 500 yards passing, 4 TD's and 50+ points - which is what we'll need to beat the Pats anyway.

Why do people think teams are going to run the same play when Harrison comes in. They arent. If he comes in they will do something he has trouble with. Make him cover.. besides he was in and couldnt catch Collins either..

Yes, I saw that. TJ is a good pass rusher who beats left tackles. Moving him to the right side for a key play, he blew by the Ravens Right tackle and got the key stop.

I don't think Bud even knows how to stop a running play - he just blows up field every damn play, taking himself completely out of the picture every time trying to rush the QB and never getting close, leaving his whole half the field exposed to runs, screens, quick throws etc.

A total waste over there. YES - move TJ to his spot and use Harrison to rush from the right side

WHY DO I HAVE TO BE THE COACH? Why can't they see this on film?

I also saw a play with Harrison on the right side get burnt and lose contain because he lacked the speed to stay on the RB's hip and got beat wide.

Harrison lost contain because he shot the line anticipating a run up the middle and when the RB bounced it outside he couldn't recover fast enough. 5 years ago that is a 5 yard loss...sadly, father time is catching up with Harrison, but I still think he is a better option than You, me, and Dupree.

That involves a coach and GM admitting they were wrong on a draft pick...why did we have to watch Jarvis be completely useless for 3 years? Apparently admitting you missed on a draft pick leaves a sour taste in your mouth.

We are not getting pressure on any QB without blitzing at least 1 LB every play. Let Harrison be the blitzing LB every single play. I don't care if they know it is coming, I guarantee he would still be more effective than Bud. Bud couldn't sniff the QB if he gets a free run unblocked.

The problem is when we only rush 3, the 2DL and one LB, the opponent, I think GB did this quite a bit, they used a TE or left a RB in and they just doubled our 3 pass rushers and gave Hundley alot of time.
Collinsworth said it last night, if you play zone and don't get pressure someone will be open, and that's what kills us vs NE, we rush, play zone and Brady has all day.
We have to change it up, have to. Play man, rush 4 or 5, etc.

I think Watt as a rookie just tied Jarvis Jones career sack total.

Tomlin is just lucky to have Ben. His poor clock management was on display. Did Tomlin really need to leave the Ravens with 40 seconds and a time out?

What was that immediate toss Ben threw straight in the air? That was a bizarre play. Ben also had a chance at a couple of guys for a first down on third down, he just wasn't able to connect.

No, but you do realize we came from a very deep starting point on our side of the field. We scored the go ahead FG and unfortunately there was 42 clicks left. I gues we they could have done better but as fate played out it became a NON-ISSUE. The team has been pretty good at the clock management lately and 42 clicks is still pretty few seconds to travel the entire field.

That is what left the 42 clicks. It wasn't that they weren't trying and many a many (other team fans) people are JUMPING on this poor clock management as though that makes the win less worthy. **** them and their jealous *** and that goes for some here. we won the game and when #7 is being hoisted.......... Will some here still be complaining???

Coach, you can check my spreadsheet. Tomlin is doing a great job at clock management. His first error was passing on 2nd down at the end of the game, and we needed a defensive stop to win.

We still scored under 2 minutes of both halves, so there is that as well...

This hybrid defense where they are basically playing tackle most of the game sucks really really bad. The problem for us the formation where tuitt and heyward are inside and watt and Dupree are outside rushing the passer from a stand up position, neutralizes each player from the start. Tuitt and heyward are ends not fuking tackles, they get swallowed up the guards and centers that maul them. Same with Dupree and watt. They get matched up on bigger offensive tackles... they are outside fuking linebackers not denfensive ends! So as soon as the ball is snapped the front 4 is overwhelmed. Tuitt and heyward playing as defensive ends matched up against 300 pounds tackles would dominate the nfl. The dolphins just pounded Brady and the cheats with a big physical defensive line and beat the **** out them like we use to do. But watch next week, if things don’t change and we play that horse **** hybrid, Brady will eat us alive... mark my words...
