Following the tragic but relieving news that Shazier will be alright, but will miss the rest of the season, left the Steelers linebacking core in a challenging situation. During the game that Shazier took the injury, shortly following it, the replacement MLB and special teams captain Tyler Matakevich also left the game with an apparent […]

What I don't get is that I saw Watt lining up in the middle a few yards back which, to me, leave the right OLB spot open for Harrison. Not sure how well it worked but they tried it.

I forgot all about Moats

Hell yeah - play him in the middle, he's slow but a pretty good tackler

I like Moats but still switch it up with Harrison. Nothing stop us from moving on to the Superbowl. We still can do it we can adjust that is what we do

That's scheme, it isn't that he was playing middle linebacker per say.

He's smart too...always a plus. He played a little ILB with the Bills...and he was the dude that ended Favre's consecutive starts record (I'm looking at you, Marsha).

**** yea !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ehh, im not a fan of this, unless it's going to be strictly base defense. Moats can't cover and neither can Williams really. Fort is pretty athletic.

Maybe move Dupree inside with Chickillo on the outside in some packages?

I like Fort too. He has the speed to cover...but is he ready?

Im fine with these guys in base but you need a hell of a dynamic player to replace Shazier in sub packages. Ryan truthfully is kinda average vs the run. He washes out of some plays and some of his tackling is iffy at best. Pass defense is another story. Sean Spence or Arthur Moats aint takin his place there. They have to make a bolder move then that.

LJ Fort might be the best option at ILB'er to replace Shazier. Moats will get abused at ILB....he's too damn slow!

I'd rather see Deebo at ILB than Moats because teams just fear the guy! Or possibly move TJ Watt to ILB and stick Deebo back at ROLB.

Shazier is irreplaceable. No one can replace this guy. You don't replace a LB'er with 4.3 speed. Guys like Shazier come along once every 20 years or so!

Shazier and Red were both green dots. IMO the biggest problem they had was organization when they both were out. I saw a lot of questions and last second shuffling just like we had last year. They might have to sacrifice athleticism for short term continuity at this point.

Fort is the better athlete, Moats is the more experienced, that may be the deciding factor. Even though Moats would be out of position and would surely need time to adjust.

LOL...Debo was no good in the middle when times were good. He'd be even worse now. Jus like Randal Gay.is now

If Moats starts at ILB with Williams I see a lot of nickel and dime when more than 1 wr is on the field. I like the thought of Moats stiffening up the run D but man if the Rats start throwing with a 3 TE 1 WR set Watson, Boyle and even Max Williams will be hard to cover with Moats and Williams out there. Hopefully they aren’t smart enough to do that.

Joe throws a couple lob balls a game - that is their offense.

The Ravens are not a passing team, their O line blows and Wallace is their only WR - these are not the Ravens from 5 years ago - their offense stinks.
