Is the time now to start going a different direction with our pass D?

The reason I ask is without Shazier and Dirty Red, we are down to 3rd string ILB.

We love to use the 2DL-4ILB-5DB group, with alot of zone, which I don't care for, but we are 10-2. I saw on a few occasions Red stuck covering wr's Monday night, that's a horrible match up for us. Cincy had guys wide open in that zone, and luckily for us they had a few big drops.

I can't see us sticking with that 2-4-5 grouping with Fort and Williams, neither guy can cover, Fort has barely played. Baltimore has been using Wallace alot in the slot and sending him up the seams, well in our zone thats going to match him up on our ILBs and deep vs our safeties.

Burns was right on AJ Green a handful of times in man coverage, I'm not sure anyone even caught a pass to Artie's side, and Sutton was glued to AJ his first two snaps, looked good for barely practicing.

I think we either have to add an extra DL on passing downs or add an extra DB and push Davis up as sort of an ILB, I don't think there's any way we can get away with using 2ILBs without Shazier.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Watt dropping even more into coverage and playing almost a hybrid LB. He may get very little pass rushing coming up. He has shown he can cover and he has some speed.

More than likely, but so does that mean Chic plays OLB on passing downs? In my best Tomlin voice, I'll address the elephant in the room, that absolutely will not work vs NE, our O better score 40

Get ready to see a lot more Willie Gay. Not that we should be seeing too much nickel and dime against the Ravens. We need to shut their running game down. Their "resurgence" has been built on their running game. Flaccos best game was last week, and I wouldn't say he turned a corner, I'd say Detroit was that bad. Stop Collins, cover Bennett, and Flacco will fold as usual.

Then we'll see how we are looking health wise going into the game against NE.

An excellent question. I think the defense will resemble a more conservative bend but don't break with Shazier out for coverage. He just can not be replaced as was the lynchpin for the zones we played.

As they say, the best defense is a good offense. Winning the time of possession and running the clock down before we snap it could be needed.

The good news is the Ravens offense is not very good.
