One playoff spot left...Alabama or Ohio - What say ye???

Ohio State beat Wisconsin last night. They won their conference. Alabama did not.

Still believe you need to win your conference to get in.

Alabama is the better team and has been all year. I really can't see them putting Ohio State in with 2 losses ahead of Alabama. Wisconsin was a good win but not that good because they aren't that good. There is a reason they have won their side of the Big Ten 5 out of 7 years - because it sucks. They only beat Michigan this year and they had 3 losses. mean, I guess you could say they had another decent win against Iowa but really no big wins. I would actually be shocked if Ohio State gets in whether they deserve it or not.

And??? Conference championships OBVIOUSLY mean nothing. Ask OSU from last year...but I guess we need to correct that travesty now and overlook a ONE LOSS team.

Incredible...

Agreed - and that's taking my homerism out of the conversation.

Like I said week's ago (and even last year) - the playoff format sucks for the team that 'loses last' during the regular season. If a team is #1 or #2 until the last week of the season - how is it fair to promote another team that lost earlier in the season multiple times? Strength of schedule the argument? See below:

OHIO STATE ALABAMA
FPI Rank 2nd 1st
Chance to Make CFP<< 40% 28%
Strength of Record Rank 7th 4th
Strength of Schedule Rank 50th 46th
Conference Champ? Yes No
Ranked Wins vs 4 Wisc, 9 PSU, 16 MSU 17 LSU, 25 Fresno
Losses 3 OU, at Iowa at 2 Auburn
>>According to FiveThirtyEight

Bama 1 loss
Ohio St 2 losses

Bama was ranked 5 yesterday.

2 teams above them lost.

How do they not move up a spot?

I don't like Bama, I don't like Ohio St.

Heck I could argue as good cases for Penn St or USC with 2 loses.

But either bama or the Buckeyes get it.

Don't think the committee won't think if they take Ohio st they see the same debacle they gave us last year, if we take bama we get a rematch of the last two excellent national championship games.

I can't see them putting two teams from the SEC in while excluding the Big Ten. Having said that, Alabama destroyed Mercer late in the year.

Alabama didn't beat anybody of note and didn't win their conference. Buckeyes should get it.

I was hoping for more chaos and controversy.

How did Clemson lose to Syracuse?

Should be an 8 to 12 team playoff.

The math doesn’t work with 12 teams.... you end up with 3 teams left standing after the first two rounds are played. If you want more than 8 teams in, you gotta jump to 16 to make the math work.

The committee should just say “**** it” and give the 4th spot to Penn State

I'm sick of both Alabama and OSU.

When do they make this announcement? Today?
