Once again we see Alabama is immune to losses. They may actually have an easier road to the playoffs having lost to Auburn. If they had won, then they’d have to beat Georgia to get in this week. But they lost and now they sit at 5, meaning only 1 of the top 4 loses and they are likely in there.

The SEC was pretty weak this year as evidenced by all the coaches getting fired, but still they somehow end up with 3 teams in the top 6.

Speaking of coaching moves

Penn State OC Joe Moorhead is the new head coach at Miss State because Dan Mullen jumped to Florida.

Bielema is out at Arkansas. Sumlin out at Tex A&M.

UCLA lands Chip Kelly

Tennessee thinks they are too good for Greg Schiano and back out of a deal after fans got mad on twitter.

Tenn wants a big name coach. Somebody with experience at big programs. An offensive guru because they stink so bad scoring points. I have the perfect candidate....Lane Kiffin.

Greatest games yet

I'm pumped

Bama flat out does not deserve to get it, but they will. They made the same mistake last year putting in an undeserving Ohio State (whom I'm a fan of), but God forbid we don't kiss Bama's ***. They have beaten NOBODY!

It should be very simple this year: The winners of the SEC, Big Ten, ACC, and Big 12 Championship games should get in.

Tennessee was just upset because they didn't get a big name at coach. How they dragged Schiano through the mud was ridiculous.

What happened with Sumlin to Arizona State? I thought it was a done deal and now I hear they're interviewing Herm Edwards this week.

Another interesting move will be if Jimbo Fisher goes to Texas A&M. Then you have the potential move of Scott Frost back to Nebraska.

If Auburn continues to play like they have they will win. I have never seen Alabamas front dominated like it was in the Auburn game. The one TD by Bama was a toss up prayer and other than that only one good drive. I am sure Georgia will be extra motivated, but dont think it will be enough. I still think Wisconsin is being overlooked, but I guess we will find out Saturday. OU can score with anyone, but their defense is shaky. I would not be surprised if TCU upsets them, I think Clemson will destroy Miami and easily make the playoff. They will be a very tough out for anyone. If OSU wins I wouldnt be surprised if they put Bama over OSU in the playoff.

If Georgia can play mentally sound, I think they stand a chance. Last meeting with Auburn was just stupid penalties and Auburn really made them pay. I haven't kept up with Auburn this week, but Johnson took a beating on his shoulder against Bama. If UGA can hold Auburns run game and get their own going. I like the Dawgs chances. Of course easier said than done. I don't hold a dislike towards Auburn at all. So coming from a UGA fan. May the best team win and good luck.

I think Wisconsin is being overlooked too btw.
I think Miami beats Clemson though. I feel they will be pissed by the loss to Pitt

They just lost their best WR in practice (injury)...and Clemson is starting to really peak at the right time. They throttled a pretty decent South Carolina team on the road. It was 31-3 at one point...and it wasn't really that close...

I'm a rock-solid SEC fan and I'll agree...Alabama doesn't deserve to get into the College Football Invitational (playoff). Their only quality win is either LSU at home or Mississippi State on the road. The FSU win is also decent...no, the OTHER FSU they played.

The SEC isn't weak, the league has 6 teams in the committee's Top25, and 11 of the 14 teams in the league either met or exceeded their Vegas Over/Under on wins during the season. A&M shouldn't be hiring a new coach, but they are because those Texas Oil Boys don't understand what their program is... Tennessee and Florida were dumpster fires because of coaching. Mullen should right the ship in Gainesville. Lord only knows what's going to happen in Knoxville.

Mississippi State getting Joe Morehead was an inspired choice. Kudos to them for not going after (another) SEC coordinator. Mullen is a Northeast guy, and so is Morehead.

Oh, and yeah, if Wisconsin and Oklahoma win, the "Playoff" will be an easy set. I would HATE to see either Ohio State or Alabama in there...neither team deserves a shot.

Local TV has Herm Edwards interviewing for HC at ASU after Coach Fraud got canned.

Good luck, Herm

Herm hasn't worn a headset for a decade and has been out of college football for 30 years!

Jimbo Fisher quits Florida State to take the job at Texas A&M. Very surprising move. TAM is a step down. I can only think of 2 reasons why Fisher would make this move.

1. He’s from there? I don’t know and don’t feel like looking it up.

2. During this lousy season, he is taking **** and he’s thinking **** You people. Your program was **** when i took over and i won you a championship. Kiss my ***, i’m out of here.

first off, Jimbo left Tallahassee to get away from his ex-wife...since she chose to start ******* ex-Florida Gator WR Travis Taylor.

secondly, **** Greg Schiano. he's not a good coach by any means. Not only did the UT fans ***** about the naming of this douche, but so did the ex-Vols players who know him better than any of us on this message board. A neighbor of mine has ties with the Bucs and told me Schiano is a "******* piece of ****". But, hear say is hear say. Whatever. Fact of the matter is Greg Schiano's Rutgers team was beat in Schiano's last game by Butch ******* Jones. So, no, we do not want a guy who can lose to Butch ******* Jones. And, do recall how the Auburn fans attacked the Auburn AD when he hired Gene Chizik. And how the Florida fans started a website fireronzook.com when that douche was named their coach. Yes, fans ***** about coaches and now, in the age of social media, they can have their voices heard louder and by those even higher up the admin totem pole.

As well, the Tennessee **** show was orchestrated by Jimmy Haslam. You know him as the owner of the Pilot Flying J gas stations and owner of the Cleveland Browns. He's a huge booster to UT. His ******* brother is the governor of Tennessee. So, there was a huge political scene going on in the background. Finally the big boosters not named Haslam tired of his **** and Currie doing Haslam's bidding and revolted. Reports are that Currie didn't have the authority to hire a coach, much less offer a contract. He didn't even contact any consulting firm or anyone outside his own office for direction on who would be the best hire. That is why Currie is gone. That is why Fulmer is the AD now. Currie had ZERO ties to UT in any way until Haslam hand picked him as AD. Now the program has someone in there who will do what is best for UT. Fans are excited. Former Vols players are excited. First thing Fulmer did after the press conference was meet with the current players. Class ******* act.

Now Fulmer will hire a guy who is best for UT moving forward.

The Vols are too good for a sub .500 coach. Especially one that comes with the taint of Penn State and all the buggary of small boys that went on there. Particularly one who knew about Jerry Sandusky doing the buggary but kept his head down and mouth shut about it so he could continue to work in the program and further his coaching career. In short **** boy raping Penn State, **** Lane Kiffin and **** you.

GO VOLS!

It seemed like Mike Leach was a done deal to Tennessee before the Fulmer move was made. Is Leach a guy that you'd like to see in Tennessee? Who's at the top of your wish list right now?

10 years 75 million dollars. Man I got in the wrong line of work. Good grief.

You are understimating how Schiano built up Rutgers from absolute nothing to a respectable program. Rutgers actually stared sending guys to the NFL under him. Rutgers, a place with absolutely nothing to sell to recruits. No tradition, no fanbase at that time, and it's not even particularly a great school.

He has successful college experience. He has NFL experience. He's an excellent defensive coach.

So he's an *******. You think Nick Saban and Bill Belichick aren't?

When Penn State needed a coach, fans and even PSU administrators were throwing around names like Urban Meyer, Mark Richt, Bill Cowher, etc. What happened was what happened so far with Tenn, coaches used PSU to get more money from their current job. That's what Mike Gundy just did.

When Bill O'Brien was hired, lots of fans were pissed because he was basically a no name. A few years later when he left for the Texans, people were disappointed in James Franklin too.

On the other hand, look at how psyched Notre Dame was when they got Charlie Weis, or when Arkansas got Bobby Petrino.

These coaching hires are a crap shoot. You can strike out with a big name. You can go with the small school guy and he can become Urban Meyer or he could be Brady Hoke

I hear Mike Leach is the hot name now. He'd sure help Tenn score more points but I'm not sure he'd be able to win the SEC with that style.

Can you give Tee Martin the gig? Sure he's an OC at USC but I'm not sure i'd hire a guy without head coaching experience. Maybe Fullmer could mentor Martin.

Tee Martin is an interesting candidate. Steve Spurrier said Tee would unite the fan base. The fan base right now is splintered. A lot of people are disgusted with how the Haslams pushed their way of doing things down the throats of the admin, corrupting the entire process of hiring and firing.

I'm absolutely not underestimating Schiano. If he was such a quality candidate, and could work the wonders you claim, why is he not being mentioned for any of the other vacancies? Arkansas is wide open right now. Schiano isn't mentioned. Florida State doesn't have a coach. Not mentioning Schiano. He MIGHT be a good coach on the field, but he's got a reputation of being a ******* prick. Is that the guy you want to hire to coach kids? His guys at Tampa had issues with him. Fans in Tampa who met him had issues with him. He's not the guy I'd feel would turn the program around...just more of the same with even less cerebral than Butch Jones. You think Schiano could beat Saban? Or Malzahan? when Butch couldn't and Butch beat Schiano? Ain't happening.

IMO, best bet for Memphis is to double Norvell's salary and poach him from Memphis. Bring Tee back as OC and recruiter with the agreement that if Norvell leaves, Tee is elevated to HC.

Schiano should be mentioned for these vacancies. The fact he’s not shows the problems with these coaching searches. Too many times schools look for the hot name instead of the best coach.

I don’t put much stock in Tampa players saying Schiano was an *******. He took over a soft team and his stated purpose was to toughen them up and weed out the weak. People don’t realize that to some extent he did do that, similar to what Singletary did in SF. Neither ended up with the wins but they did lots of the hard work to set the team up to win.

I don’t know Tenn’s financial situation. Wasn’t the University bankrupt a few years ago? They may not have the money to bring in a top coach.

curious that Les Miles is not being mentioned for any jobs. My guess is that he’s still getting paid by LSU and is going to wait for the right job. Maybe wait for Harbaugh to burn out at Michigan.

I think Utah coach Ty Willingham would be a good candidate for Tenn.

On a side note, i’m liking Memphis QB Riley Ferguson for the steelers. He has some bad habits, will throw off back foot etc, but i like his athleticism and he looks accurate. Can make throws on the move. Has some Big Ben in him

Oklahoma beats TCU and is in the playoff. Winner of SEC game is in. Winner of Clemson Miami is in.

That leaves Wisconsin vs OSU as the only question left. Wisky obviously in if they win, but there could be chaos if OSU wins. Committee seems to have already rigged it so Bama gets in even though they have no real quality wins this year.

Georgia is looking better than last game. They still need to get the ball out faster 3.5-4+ seconds on passing downs won't bode well. As I type this they hit a 34 yard slant..ball out in about 2 seconds...haha
