Darrelle Revis is back.

The Chiefs on Wednesday announced the signing of the free-agent cornerback. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport was told by a source that Revis was inked to a two-year deal that will pay him the league minimum with incentives this season and a $10 million price tag for 2018 that becomes guaranteed with the new league year.

"Darrelle is a proven player in this league and we are excited to add him to our secondary," Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said in a statement released by the team. "He's had a Hall of Fame career and his leadership and playing experience will be valuable to our defense."

Andy Reid told reporters he polled a gaggle of veteran players before acquiring Revis, who has a shot to play in Week 12, according to the coach.

Some here wanted him. His tank is near empty but due to his extended time off he may be healed fully and now able to play without pains and aches. He said earlier in the year he was staying in great shape and would be ready when a team called. I know time will tell us the truth. I also know there isn't much chance he will receive the 2018 roster guarantee of 10million but the contract is loaded to show respect to a veterain player. I wish him well unless they ARE playing us and then we will see anyone of our three WR or RB burn his *** for a TD or several.

With them seemingly loving Golden over Wilcox, I would have loved to give Rev a try at FS.

Oh well that ship has sailed.

Yeah I was pretty adamant he was worth a shot back when it was a thing a few months ago. He's only 32 - it's not like he's ancient. If he plays well, a lot of teams (ours included) are gonna look pretty dumb for not jumping at that opportunity

I wonder if they are going to play him at safety. It might be the logical choice for the end of his career, and I would have taken him over Mitchell at this point.

Definately !!!!!!

yep... same age as willy gay

Revis is done. We won't regret the Steelers not bothering with him.

That's the BOAT that I'm in. His "gun" for hire was also a factor in my NOT wanting him. He wanted way to much money for the his value. Amazing what a 2/3 season will do as he signed for vet minimum. There's a 10mil clause if he is still on roster start of 2018 season. The odds of that rate slim to NONE.
