I took this from an article.

There are five teams -- the Giants, Browns, Bears, Chargers and somehow the Steelers -- that haven't scored 30 in a game this season.

Not the greatest of company to be in...

League leading rusher.
League leading receiver.

You are correct, haven't scored a ton of points, but they've got to be doing some things right.

As Bill Cowher used to say, "it's a fine line"

Maybe they figured it out at halftime at Indy.

We can only hope.

No one will got a trophy last week, and no one will get a trophy this week either.

Win the week you're in, that's all you gotta do.

How do the Steelers rate in TOP ?

5th

Total Offense rank ?

10th

Yes they need to improve in the red zone, but it isn't like there isn't any positives.

If you haven't realized by now, the STEELERS have been an anomaly quite often along the way. This don't surprise me but what's the problem with where they are at?????? If the scored more than 30 in any but the two,.........they'd still be 7-2 so what's the point other than to satisfy the people who want more than 30??????? As many posters have said, win the week / game that your in regardless of score.

I think what he's trying to say is look at the other teams on the list of not scoring 30 yet. They have the same amount of wins combined as we do...and one of those wins is 1 of our 2 losses. Any list that you're on with the Browns can't be a good thing. With that said, the difference between us and them is we have a defense that can keep teams out of the endzone which is why we're at 7-2 and not 3-6 like the Bears and Chargers.

I wish I had as much confidence in this team as some of the people just saying 7-2 and nothing else matters though.

People looking at points,,,, And the fact we havent scored 30. And look at the ****** teams that havent scored 30.

Why does it matter? We're 7-2!!!

Well, Its because those rat ******** are coming up. And we KNOW we'll probably see them in the playoffs. And history has repeated itself, time and again.

You can have an all world defense and a pretty good offense ,,, and still lose at home to the *'s and belicheat. See 2004

I'm not a coach, but there have to be changes/adjustments you can make when you are generally good at moving the ball but bad at scoring points

Not to mention we seem to be fine at scoring at the end of each half when there is a sense of urgency. If only they could play like that all game...

If we don't put up 30+ on the Cheats and especially if we see them at their house in the playoffs, we will lose. They score, period. If you don't keep up, you can't win. The Cheats D has improved significantly, as you knew they would. And, their O has started to click, as you knew they would. Now, their special teams is starting to score. All three phases. We need the 12th man to have a chance against them in the playoffs.

I wasn't trying to say we suck or whatever, but is kinda shocking that we are only 1 of 5 teams that have not hit 30 points. Most feel the offense should be averaging that. Bottom line is the offense needs to step it up because the D seems to be faltering a bit

Right. It's a more granular manifestation of the same issues we have with beating bad teams. The team simply does not give their best effort until they feel their backs are against the wall and they absolutely have to. That is only at the beginning of games against good teams. When they get a lead they relax and start taking unnecessary risks that can let the opponent back in. When we play "bad" teams, we do that straight out of the gate. And this has been the case for YEARS. The guys simply do not know how to stay focused.

If Bryant can catch a deep ball or two so he can scare defenses again and Vance can stay on the damn field, this O will start to score. I just feel it. Ben is going to tell Haley to **** off. We have the best WR in the NFL and a guy who thinks he's the best RB in the NFL (he was last year). We have Ben, who isn't nearly as bad as most on here are making him out to be. Now, we have JuJu!

Just with AB, Bell and JuJu, Ben just needs one more guy to step up and get open consistently the rest of the season. If that happens, whether it be Vance, Jesse (seems to always get open for first downs) or Bryant, this O will be unstoppable. There will be no excuse not to be. Then again, we still need Haley to get the **** out of the way.

I do think our OLine plays better when we use the pass to set up the run to get the d on it's heels, I don't feel this line is a line that can just line up and say we are running and you can't stop us.
Stop with the damn empty set, at least give the D the thought it may be a run.
Use more play action, we actually used it on JuJus TD and it sucked the LBs in and we weren't even running really well

I'll take the wins no matter how they get them. Style points only matter in college football. I would say with the talent level on offense this offense has grossly underachieved. They will never have more talent at one time then they have right now. I would go K-Gun with these guys. They need to do something to change that same ole boring tempo up.

Definitely agree with the empty set. Get rid of it. It doesn't work. We have enough weapons on the outside. We need someone with the threat to sneak out of the backfield for a screen or to get out in the middle of the field. Putting Bell out wide totally eliminates that potential.

The pats and billycheat had inside info on the Steelers though.
Take away those spytapes. Ugh! The Steelers would've whooped Philly too.

Facking cheats can go to hell

Opening day we gave up 18 to the Browns. That was the worst scoring effort by our defense. No other team has 18 points as their worst defensive effort.

If your gonna point out scoring as a negative measuring stick for the o. you need to use it when the numbers are good for the d as well.

Just checked....
Bos has made 20 fg.
If half of those were tds
That would add 40 points to our points scored and would have our average just over 24 points a game.

This isn't 30, but considering no one hung 20 on you yet, it's not bad.

Again, one week at a time. If we blow up for 45 tomorrow night it doesn't mean squat against Green Bay the next week.

One down at a time.

Teams are gonna stop Bell, or who ever is at rb. will need play action to work for us.

They know our O and they know to stack the line.

The Bears put up 23 and the Jags put up 30 with a defensive TD so again 23 and those were both losses.

It's unfair and unrealistic to expect the D to hold teams under 20 every game so the O needs to start scoring.
