I took a look at about 10 players. I agree with the calls, though some I might rate a color shade higher than they do.

Our top players rate high ( Brown, DeCastro, Heyward ) , and the ones I think are a bit suspect, say like James or Hubbard rate low.

At any rate, he's what they say on all of the players.

Or 10 centers better than Pouncey. Last night, during the intro, they had Pouncey at 11 or 12.

Yea, he's average...

This is why metrics suck, especially randomly faceted ones. They make people think these players aren't as good as another due to numbers, when in actuality it comes down to matchups. How do you match up against the guy across from you? Playmakers will make plays, and impactful players will impact the game.

I have a hard time believing that there are 10 better RB's than Bell or 57 Safeties better than Davis.

Bell is rated as "above average"
holeeee ****

LeSean McCoy #42

they rank:
Leonard Fournette #9
Tie: Duke Johnson #7 Dion Lewis #7
Jay Ajayi #5
Aaron Jones #4
Ezekiel Elliott #3
Devonta Freeman #2
Kareem Hunt #1

**must have skipped 6 or 8 unless there was someone else tied at 7

I think they grade on the year. Bell had a slow start, had 2 good games then did not impress vs the Lions.

As for Davis, he's just a guy back there to me. He was ripped for yardage vs the Lions and had a PF call.

Oh, and JuJu is a poor WR...

LOLZ...

I think you have to skip the rookies who did not play much until recently. But I think JU-JU is on the rise, and will rate much better soon.

I hear you, it's just a problem with the metric. JuJu has been the 2nd best receiver on this team for 3 weeks.

He currently #22 in yards, 77 in receptions and T-11 in TDs. Even if he had a modest game with 124 less yards this week, coming in at 300 total yards on the season, he's still 67th. They also don't take into account his blocking, which is a metric never measured for a receiver. He has to be top 10 at worst in the league as a blocking WR.

So in these stats, JuJu is currently #22 in the league at best, and #67 in the league at worst. But nowhere near the lazy metric of 91.

Ripped for yardage i can remember one play. A back shoulder throw where he was in coverage. What other plays are you referring too.

Please give us the link that shows who was ripped for yardage. We know you won't. I guarantee it was Burns and Haden who were ripped. Mitchell and Davis saved their behinds on at least a dozen plays.

Davis has made at least 3 or 4 TD saving plays on the ball in the end zone in his short career

Oh, and another reason why the metric didn't work for JuJu: There are 32 teams. 32 x, 32 z and a third or slot receiver, which JuJu clearly was and was pushing for Z snaps in 2 WR sets. So that means if you're the worst #2 receiver in the league, you'd rank 64th Worst slot or 3rd receiver would be 96th (though I know some slots are better than other teams 2s, just making a point using math). To say JuJu was only 5 slots better than the worst 3rd receiver is a bad metric. Not even close. He's been a top 50 receiver since week 4 & 5.

All this stuff is fluff and bullshit. Fodder to pull the heart strings of fans who will pay to see anything about their team. In some ways it’s just the National Enquirer of the sports world.

Just as dumb as fantasy football scoring.

It is worse because, for FF you can duplicate the scoring. PFF, you have no idea how they rated a player on a specific play or if they rated him at all. How many people rate each player on each play? How are those grades compared and homogenized to get the final rating on each play, which leads to the overall grade?

Even if, as Coach said, Davis got burned a couple of times, there is no way there are 57 other Safeties that are better.

Don’t forget his speed on Madden is an 82 or 83! LOL. That kids interview killed me.

The only grade I’ve ever cared about is the one in February. If the Steelers hoist the trophy that’s the true grade for me. Screw these other nonsense opinions.

I guess you did not watch the game.

I guess you did not watch the game.

Of course i did. you have another play? Only reason you saw it was because it was national

I guess you did not watch the game.

I guess you just watched it again wearing your hate all things Davis glasses....go to the 5 below store and get yourself a pair of glasses that don't have I hate everything Davis taped to the inside...

On Pro football focus grading system, I think its fair to say that our best players are rated highly, and our not so good players are rated low. I might disagree on a few players, but in a macro sense I agree with the calls on all 53 men.

My guess is a players grade has a lot to do with positive and negatives while on the field. Davis in most games makes zero splash plays and a lot of tackles after a guy in his area catches it.

Pro Football Focus doesn't like Mitchell either, but I don't see anyone complaining about that.

He was making a sandwich when Davis stopped two TDs sunday

So his two TD saving plays sunday wasnt enough splash for you?
