Packers hoping Rodgers returns in Week 15

ESPN's Rob Demovsky reports the Packers are "holding out hope" Aaron Rodgers (collarbone, IR) can return Week 15 against the Panthers.

Rodgers is out for at least the next eight games, but the Packers think there's a chance he'll be back when first eligible. It's an aggressive timetable that sounds like a best-case scenario.

8 weeks is a fine timetable for his bone to be healed. However, he'll be in preseason game shape when the throws his first ball on week 15.

The Packer's fate will have allready been determined by that game 15. If they are IN then you stay with what got you there UNLESS Rodgers has shown game ready without a doubt ability.

Aaron Rodgers has chance to throw by Thanksgiving, play twice before Christmas

Depending on the type of clavicle fracture, it is possible for Rodgers to exercise and even beging to throw in rehab as early as five weeks after surgery. He can’t practice until after Week 14.

I don't know how this site would state a bone, especially a surgically repaired weak stress bone, would be 100% ready to go under 8 weeks. Just not possible IMHO. Plus this bone is 100% linked to his ability to be able to thrown a ball. Week 14 is after Thanksgiving, and he won't be able to throw before then. He won't have his arm strength due to atrophy of not being able to maintain strength in those muscles for 2mos.

He will not be on a practice field until December, and he won't be himself this season, even if he returns. Best case scenario, in my observations, would be him returning to practice week 15 and trying to play week 16 and 17.

‘I’m good now’: Aaron Rodgers now has 13 screws in his broken collarbone

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers likely won’t be playing football any time soon, flowery reports of a possible return in December notwithstanding.

Rodgers tells Conan O’Brien of TBS that Rodgers had 13 screws inserted into his collarbone.

The screws go along with a plate that holds the collarbone together. The fact that the plate is big enough to require that many screws means that the break was bad enough to require a fairly large plate.

Umm, yea. Not surprising at all considering the bone in question. No chance he's playing this year.
