There a good chance they might. Running it with 12 second lefts = STUPID. You had two passing pays here.

Sure we won, and people will forget about yet another bad call by our coaches...until then Boswell is money.

Unless his leg falls off first.

Coach, if you understand game strategy, they were holding a TO with 12 sec and 3 plays. They ran the ball and failed to call the TO until 3sec. If the TO was called immediatly at the tackle, at worst, there was 7 sec left. Plenty of time for a 3rd down pass to the EZ, and trot the FG team out on 4th down if they failed on 3rd. That was the only mismanagement and Ben was to blame there.

What is the point of running there, odds are you aren't scoring from the 6 or 7, I'd rather have two shots into the end zone, as Romo said.

Did Tomlin tell the ref he is taking a timeout after the play? It was a bad call. You never do that. You throw it twice.

I believe MT was arguing pretty strongly just that Cope. He was pretty ticked off at the side judge and white hat for not having his TO count at 7 sec. Would need the 22 film to see when he called it.

Only strategy Coach seems to understand is pushing his agenda.

Only the Tomlin can call timeout from the sideline??? Didnt know that

I think Haley was afraid Ben would take 2 sacks and take the team out of FG range. Good call on Haley's part. Run the ball. Call the TO. And kick the FG. Get the points. This guy will be a HC again and soon.

Coach does have the safe bet regardless as to how it played out on the calling of the TIME OUT. As said, we won and this is all a moot point. I was a little frustrated durring that whole series but then solace came forth as I remembered the fact of the score / time clock / ect.ect.ect.......

Salute the nation

Last week it was giving up a 53 yard FG attempt on 4th and 2 and lining up to do some dumb bullshit in a punt formation (OBVIOUSLY not what we were intending to do), taking the delay of game, and then actually punting and leaving it a 9 point game. No ******* reason not to take the FG or go for it and make it a 2 TD game instead of a TD/FG game. Tomlin was lucky it didn't cost us the game.

Farve, Brady, and Manning never had trouble with situational football. Ben does. He always has. Those previous QBs, I've seen call running plays, and immediately call a TO to preserve 2 more plays. The play wasn't the problem, it's not understanding the game situation, and that cost this team a chance to throw to the EZ on 3rd down.

Fundamentals people. If we had zero timeouts, you'd be right, but we had a TO, and misused it.

I saw coach running onto the field at 7 sec. One of the few advantages to going to a game. I'm very shocked that the refs didn't allow the time to be added. By rule the team and coaches have to stay in the box between the 30s, so he can't be in someone's ear at the snap. He had to run from the 30 to get someone's attention, and no ref was looking his way. It was a loud play, the refs didn't notice him. Ben looked dumbfounded, but Tomlin knew the situation.

Damage control time. Ya know a coach can tell a ref that he is going to call a time out the second the tackle was made. Tomlin did not do this. Another jr varsity move...

Nope, Ben can call it. The fact that he didn't speaks to a trend of his football IQ in time management situations.

Is there proof Ben called it? Where?

Ben was rather upset on the sidelines, a telltale sign he didn't like the crap run call.

The call should have been a quick slant to Brown, or a curl to Ju-Ju, both in the end zone. And if it was incomplete, than you have one more quick pass attempt.

Haley and Tomlin continue to squander points with bad clock management.

So you are just going to ignore everything Cope is saying to keep pushing your agenda. He was at the game and says he saw Tomlin trying to get the timeout in.. what was ben doing though? Call timeout. And its so easy to say what a play call should be like the defense doenst know the ball needs to come out quick also and will play accordingly. The closest person to a ref was Ben and he and Tomlin should of been trying to get a TO called

Read slowly....TOMLIN could have told the ref he is calling a time out, but he didn't. He ran the ball and blew a chance. Should have been two passes Antdrewjosh.

Cope can reply if he wants to

What does any of that have to do with what Cope said he saw at the game?? Telling the ref doesnt mean **** you still have to call timeout. And again and im not trying to absolve Tomlin here but the closet person to a ref is Ben why couldnt he call TO

He might have. Or he might have thought his SB winning QB would have the sense to do so. ****, my 6th grade QB knows to do this.

I dont even like Tomlin.

Tomlin looks foolish when it comes to clock management. Before the half why would you even think a stutter step wide run would work with seconds left. Once again we are fed we drafted a bigger back for short yardage and we have yet to see this player in those situation which were many yesterday. Yes I know we won, when it comes time where field goals aren't good enough , then what.

Actually Coach, you can't do that at all. That is called predetermining a play out come, and forcing referees to retroactively respond to a request made before they can actually stop the clock. The only way a coach can tell a ref when to stop a clock, is if no play is being run, the clock is moving, and the coach says stop the clock at 3, 2, 1 seconds on the clock or play clock. That is it.

You are fabricating situations that can't physically exist within the rules of professional football.

Perhaps this is allowed in Fantasy Football, but I don't play that...

You see everything Tomlin does something foolish, a select few have to blame Ben. Can't anyone call a time out? So its not all on Ben. If you saw the action on the sideline, it was a coaching call. Ben was pissed.

Unless you think Ben should go rouge and ignore these two bad clock managers ( maybe he should ) he ran the play that was called.

Well if that is true, Tomlin should have know not to gamble many seconds. I have seen coaches get in a ref's ear before saying the next play will be a time out.

Show me please if this is forbidden in the rules.
