Here are my thoughts on the players and how I rank them as of 10-20-17, and yes I have seen them all play.

The first comment, this is a good QB year, but not quite as good as the media is claiming! There might only be one " Franchise QB " of the bunch.

Rosen. Rosen comes from an athletic family sort of surprised me a bit because he looks like a lanky type of kid. But he's somewhat athletic. Rosen is young and can add a bit to his frame. His accuracy, decision making, and arm are all very good, and he has brought his team back from behind. The concern with Rosen is he could be a " Hollywood type " , and there is stuff out there his teammates really don't like him a lot. But as a QB prospect, he's the best of the bunch in October 2017...I think.

Rudolph. Rudolph has been under the radar, but its hard to ignore his TD to interception ratio ( 19-4 ), size ( 6'5" 230 ), and completion percentage. ( 66.7% ). He's also a threat to run and score with 6 ground TDs. He does have a top talent at WR, but I say so what. The guy looks like a winner to me and could skyrocket up the mock draft charts once someone tells Mel Kiper how good he really is.

Jackson. Jackson is super athletic. He can run like the wind and jump. But what type of quarterback is he? His completion percentage is a little low at 60.2% ( 56.9% for college career ) and he was shut down vs. the Clemson defense. The good news is he takes care of the football and doesn't have a lot of interceptions. However, I do not think he will fare well as a passer vs. an NFL Defense. His skinny frame scares me a bit to the point where if he doesn't alter his playing style, he's going to get hurt. But he could fit with a running based team with a good defense ( because he doesn't turn it over often ) and that scares me a bit because the Steelers are one of those teams.

Darnold. Darnold has not impressed me in two viewings. This guy thinks he's Brett Farve, except he doesn't have that special type of arm to pull off what Favre did. He's hot-headed or if you prefer very competitive, but his emotions get the best of him too often. While the tools are there to be great, I saw some stuff I did not like and his accuracy is just okay. Could be a real boom or bust type of pick. Right now I do not think he's worth trading up to obtain and think he should stay in school if possible unless he has a strong close for the year. Fair or not, beware of hyped USC QB's like Sanchez and Leinart. While I did not think either was good NFL prospects or QB's the hype attached to them wasn't a good thing for their development.

Allen. Allen is hard to evaluate because he doesn't have a good OL or skill players to work with. The accuracy is not there yet, but the arm and toughness are top notch. He might have the best upside of the bunch, but he'll need a year or two to hit his stride. Similar in some ways to Carson Wentz who's finally playing like a top 5 NFL pick. Another boom or bust type of pick, but there's something about this guy that makes me think he has a chance to be special.

Stidham. Only a sophomore, his accuracy, and TD to Interception ratio in the SEC are most impressive! In 17 games played the young Stidham has 20 TD's and 4 Int's, with a career 66.8 competition percentage. He doesn't throw it a lot though, which could be coaching. Is he just a good game manager, or perhaps something more? The arrow here is pointing ^^^

I would say its a mistake if we don't take a QB in R1 next year.

MLB, TE, FS also needs, WR but not in R1 will also be a need.

Riley Ferguson

Will have to wait and see what their wonderlic score are first....then go from there. Right?

20 or higher = no issues Its the low scores that you have to watch out for.

If you want to use X Steeler QB's, I think Kordell got a 10 and Tee Martin an 11. Were either football smart guys able to read a defense?

Bradshaw pulled a 14, and wasn't exactly sharp.

Ben got a 25, which is above average.

I'd be curious to see what Belichick thinks of the test. Jimmy Johnson thinks it was important, as if he could not get the guy to learn or understand, he couldn't coach them.

I think Ben is going to be Farve 2.0. I have said he looks like he checked out, it’s not on him 100%. Hack hack Haley. But I do think the team needs to think about it. I serious doubt the next Steelers QB is falling to us at 32. Just saying.

Plus, we got Sheldon. I think they are high on him even though he makes #heregoesjonesagain look like a god.

Yeah Brad wasn't too sharp, 4 Championships and 2 SB MVP, all the while calling his own plays.

Like I said you are a genius.....

Riley Ferguson

Saw him play in person Thursday night vs. Houston. He's very talented. Gets rid of the ball quickly, strong arm, accurate, good at eluding the rush.

If the Steelers have a shot at him, which I think is unlikely, by all means go for it.

If THE guy is there when they draft which is hopefully very late ok. If A guy is there no thanks. I would draft another piece. I think the Steelers could be an attractive landing spot for a qb that wants to win. If Cousins just wants money whatever. If he wants to win. Maybe.

I agree with Sask. I don't want to reach for a QB just because we need a QB. If a guy worthy of our pick is there, then it's time to make the move. If not, then continue to fill other needs.

I think after Ben's contract is finished the Steelers Will have the money for any FA QB that wants to be competitive. And yeah, if they only want the money and don't care about winning they don't deserve to wear the B&G

What if they want the money but also care about winning? And where would you put AB in this criteria? Cares about winning? All about the money? Some of one but more of the other? 50/50 on both?

There is always the option that we move up and grab a guy we like. I wouldn't be against that.

Watched Darnell from USC, Allen from Wyoming, and Falk from Wash st yesterday..

Not really impressed with either of their performances ...

Most impressive to me yesterday was Malik Rozier- Miami.

The only reason the U is in the top 10 is Malik Rozier. This kid is 100% clutch and should be on the Heisman list.
