The 57 yard play yesterday was the longest in 13 games given up by the Steelers. Mitchell plays a big part in that. Juyst by getting everyone set up back there.

Pass play, I presume, since just nine days ago, a guy ran 90 yards on the defense.

They have been pulling Bell for Watson on 3rd and 1. Goal line seems to be a similar situation. I presume because Watson
is the quickest to the line. It would make sense, Bell hesitates too much and why risk injury to your premier back in goal line
pile ups.

I'm not against it, but they won't take Bell out of the line up near the goal line consistently

I wouldnt take him out i dont think Bell has a problem getting short yardage. He is usually money when given the ball around the goal line. Just not getting it. Line up with a FB and lets go

I'd leave Bell in also, I'd bring Watson in only if Bell needs a breather, but Bell is also dangerous out of the backfield and does well blocking.
The first rushing td at the goal line was 3 we one RB set, not sure why they don't like to go big down there often.

Yes, he did make one nice play to break up a pss. But he makes less than his peers, and less than people who are LB's. Even Jarvis Jones got a sack every now and then. If Davis can have 10 PD's, instead of the 5 he had last year or the 6-7 he's on pace for the defense will have an easier time getting off the field.

With this pass rush, the DB's should be having an easier time.

In contrast, he's improving every game and is making more plays than his peer playing next to him at Safety.

I'm a big fan of the run/pass option as a presnap read. I am not a fan of the empty backfield on short yardage/goaline plays, because there is no run option.

We've never run out of that set. I'd be happy if we lined up empty back, then bring Bell in motion and hand it off to him. It hasn't happened yet, but that's a great option short yardage to at least freeze the LBs whether or not we hand it to Bell or go play action. Right now, the D knows we are passing only on empty back sets.

Does someone need to paint it on your forehead? There is no contrast between LB and safeties. Watt/Shazier have more PDs because higher % passes go to their area of coverage. Dump passes to RBs, TEs, or underneath cross routes. Will Gay plays the slot, when he is in the nickel or dime package, depending where Hilton lines up, so of course he has opportunities on obviously passing downs.

As for the notion that the ball isn’t thrown their way more, you just proved you don’t watch the whole game, just highlights or box scores is your info highway. Even then you can’t get it right. According to the box score, Smith threw 34 passes. Of which 12 went short left. 11 went short right. 3 passes were short middle underneath passes. That’s 26 passes thrown to the coverage areas to LB and CB. 8 passes were thrown beyond the short coverage area. 8 passes (or less than 24%) of which 2 were against Davis with no completion. So tell us genius, who has the greater capacity to get PDs? The short coverage area defenders @ 86% or the safeties @ 24% on passing plays. As Cope said, he had a breakup in the end zone on 4th down. So he made a splash play there. As for he makes less than his peers. How can he make what YOU state he should when he has fewer passes thrown his way? Tell us genius.

With the pass rush QBs have less time for beyond intermediate routes. So hence a lack of opportunities for the back end.

One more thing...genius....who led the game in tackles? Davis did, with at least two tackles for no gain.

You are wrong in your assessment, you are wrong in your logic. And show a comparison with Jarvis Jones, just solidifies your agenda based diatribe.

According to your logic it’s his fault they had, what 2 1st downs compared to our 19 in the first half? They still came out running the ball in the second half and abandoned it in the last qtr. Never the fault of the players. Andy just on a long week of prep, just sat back and did nothing to prepare. So he must be like MT and a terrible coach. Tell the KC fans to Fire him now. They will call you idiot for sure.

In all fairness, they came out running because winning the game was never out of reach. They were trying to slow down our pass rush. Give credit to our Dline for holding it down, the matchup with 92 against Fletcher or whatever his name is was proven to be effective before. And it payed off again.

Tuitt, Hargrave and Cam played excellent. Everyone was filling their gaps and really playing well. They were reading plays and making tackles in the backfield sometimes. Hilton even sniffed out a TE screen and was on him before the ball even got to Kelce. Harrison has owned Eric Fisher the past three games. So that matchup was definitely in our favor.
