Lev Bell Nice game catapulting him back onto the top 5 in this seasons running back yardage totals. (Number 3 to be exact) I doubt the Chiefs run D slept well last night.

Antonio Brown What concentration on that play in such a critical point of the game. The number one receiver in the game, played like it.

Steelers run D After bad outings against the Jags and Bears it was nice to see a dominating performance against a RB that is leading the league in rushing, Kareem Hunt. That is 9 attempts for whopping 21 yards. Steelers shut that *** down!

Deebo A sack when one was needed at a critical juncture in the game. Why were you inactive last week, refresh my memory?

Notes

* I liked Tomlin's challenge on, was that ball in or out of the end zone. I am critical of some of his bone headed calls of late, so when there is a good one. He should get props as well.

* Hilton continues to impress, a little fireplug injection at corner for the Steelers. That continues to infuse life into the secondary.

* Tuitt statistically didn't have a "Oorah" performance. But don't let that detour from his work in the trenches. As he was often disruptive. He is giving Heyward a run for his money for MVP of that D-line.

* What a difference one year makes in regards to defending the pass. Haden quietly is the difference maker in comparison, on the NFL's number 1 ranked pass defense! (total D statistically comes in at number 3)

* With two embarrassing losses on the season, it was got damn nice to see a bounce-back win against the last undefeated team in the NFL. For how much grief the Steelers earned in those losses, they earned just as much praise in this latest win. The NFL this season has constantly reminded me that you aren't as good as your best win, and you aren't as bad as your worst loss. The team has put themselves in the position of an anything can happen outcome. Which is two shakes of a lamb tail better than last weeks seasonal outlook look of "headed for a heartbreak". Wanna sing it?

No not just yet!

Antidotes

Big Ben I wonder if he would consider practicing on Wednesdays more often. Not that he was a Juggernaut out there, but he did have a overall decent game. With perhaps a little luck on that tipped TD to AB. At the time that his mobility isn't what it once was, that little extra practice time could help get in unison with all the receivers not named Antonio Brown.

Martavis Bryant Ungrateful fuckwaffle wanted a trade did he. Instead of separating from the team try separating in and out of your breaks more often. Do that as you did pre - your year off, you will get more looks as you did then. Ol dumb as a box of rocks ************, my patience is wearing thin with you.

His groove is back and I noticed just a little less hesitant at the point of decision.

WHAT a catch, some say it was luck and my response is it luck he's the best receiver in the NFL.... I think not

Amazing how we took the best and made him look less than average.

This was so good to see and I'm breaking my spending BAN and getting me a #92 jersey

Other than keeping the GAME close,....... Officiating wasn't as bad as one would have thought.

(He looked a hell of a lot better as he knew his "clock in the pocket" and did what was necessary for the win. I'll take it I think 68% completion
Ooopppps. Forgot the blue)

THIS ******* DIPSHIT is so ******* stupid and all about himself (why else the suspention). Some say sit/bury him on the bench. I say use his *** up and get his value up and just before super bowl BENCH / don't dress him. TRADE him away in the off season. If a 3rd and a 4th was offered, I'd have to think long and hard. ******* PISS ANT brain that's poison frog infested.

OH no I use him all season and into the playoffs. I don't short change the Steelers chances based on his damaged mental state of mind.Including dressing him for the SB if there is one. You wonder if his depression tendencies are still front-lining his decision making. But yeah after the season I could care less. Apparently that poison monkey frog isn't working. Maybe he should try burning into his forehead.

Martavius Bryant Tweeted last night and said Rappaport's claim was False!

Are yinz referring to his I am happy to be a Steeler tweet?

Bryant played well. They didn't pass much but when they went his way, he was there.

Burns needs to stop peeking in the backfield and getting greedy. He gave up one TD and almost gave up another. He IS better than those two plays. He has been very good so far this year. Hopefully, he doesn't pull that **** in weeks to come. Stay disciplined.

Hey now. Brown abused a water cooler, Bryant may have had his moment or two of frustration. The fact is it's not a bad problem to have receivers who are pissed off at not being targeted more often. If they don't feel like they're the best guy out on the field then something is wrong.

Give him a break. Could be he said something in frustration like "If you aren't going to play me, trade me." That's hardly "seriously looking for a trade". And so what if his girlfriend says "ya, he really does want a trade." I can't comprehend who Bryant would want to go to that would give him opportunities like Pittsburgh. He's got a good thing goin' here. It will alllll be fine. I do think Haley should put together a MB heavy game plan though so other teams can be reminded what the Steelers have available to them whenever they want.

BEN looked like he was good Ben yesterday. His passes had a better touch on them and more accurate.

Ah, memories. I played strong side defensive end in H.S. My job was primarily to contain, read and react. There wasn't a great deal of glory in the position because my primary gig was to seal the outside and make sure any runs were routed inside to the linebackers and safety and deal with the TE accordingly by bumping and passing him off if he was in a route or... well see above.

Now the OTHER defensive end played on the weak side. THAT ************ drove me crazy. See he was supposed to do the same thing. Contain, read and react. But he was weak-side. And he was pretty quick. So - That sumbitch would 9 times out of 10 blitz like a mother-****** off the edge straight at the QB. Did he get some sacks? You bet he did. Did he force the best linebacker and safety to play his side because of all the contain he lost when they'd pitch around him? **** yes.

So this gambroni would do this every ******* game... Every ******* time. And probably 4 or 5 times a game we'd give up 20+ yard runs on his side because of his lack of discipline. But he got one or two sacks a game and some pressures as well so the coaches let it go. But I'm sitting over there getting my *** handed to me 40 snaps a game by a ******* TE or a pulling guard because I have the less talented linebacker and safety behind me and I have to make sure the TE is at least engaged. But every now and then... ya. I got greedy. I wanted a ******* sack. I admit it. So once or twice I'd blitz. Normally it was fine. I'd even get a sack here and there. But once, just once Damnit... I fired in straight off the edge, blew by the TE on the inside and I knew immediately I was ****** because he didn't even give me a second look. He was heading straight for my safety. I reached out, but the toss was gone. The RB took it for 35 yards before the corner chased him down.

Coach had me sit the rest of the series and moved the other guy to my ******* side... That was horseshit. But I had bailed on my assignment and they took a big chunk on us. If I'd played it right I would have taken the TE out and my safety would have been clean to tackle the runner or at least force him back inside. It was totally my fault. But to switch the other guy over to my side. Ouch.

McDonald. What a blocker the kid is turning out to be. He’s aggressive.
Ben is looking more like a Tomzack and that’s ok. Manage the game and minimize the turnovers.
Hilton has earned that nickel spot.
Burns showed great solidness and Haden proves more and more to be the steal of free agency.

After bad outings against the Jags

I don't think the D did so badly against the Jags. Fournette was, mostly, held in check until the game was already lost.

They did a good job versus two rookie RB's who seem like studs at the position.

Game out of hand or not that break for a long run was extra salt on the wound. All water under the bridge now. But it was a reminder of the run D wasn't where it needed to be. We all want to say if it wasn't for this or that play. But all plays count. For better or worse.

Good news is the run D is showing improvement, and I like that.

It was a GREAT game. Getting to see Brown's TD catch live was a thing of beauty. I started crying. For real. When Ben doesn't throw all the time and we have a running game, we win. He was 17-25. I thought it was the perfect balance of runs to passes.

That being said- in the 4th quarter, it was 3rd and 8, KC ball. They got called for holding, which should have made it 3rd and 18. The next play showed 3rd and 7. Did they pick up the flag and not announce it to the stadium? My brother and I were beyond baffled at what happened.

someone said in the game thread that was a spot foul. I don't know the exact rules that go along with that. But I initially asked that question myself.

But yeah a incredible game. I haven't re-watched it yet, but I will!

If it was a spot foul, then wouldn't it have stayed 3rd and 8? They made no announcement in the stadium. Was wondering if during the break they said something on TV. You'd think they would have said something live.....but nope. They announced it, said it was 10 yards, and then BAM. The Chiefs gained a yard...lol.

For some inexplicably stupid reason, they take 10 yards from the spot of the hold and figure it out from there. Which is total bs. They're trying WAY too hard to make football into basketball and make the scores 35 to 42.

Burns needs to stop peeking in the backfield and getting greedy.

I know the announcers ragged on Burns, but he held coverage for 5 seconds before Smith miraculously escaped the sack and chucked the ball down the field. Not reasonable to expect the DB's to be able to cover for more than 5 seconds. Get there before then and crush the QB.

This happened a couple times last game. The 10 yards is marched off from where the hold occurred. We're used to seeing it as a 10yd penalty, since the holding is usually occurring at the line of scrimmage. We actually got a first down on a hold downfield this year by a WR. They still marched off 10yds back, but it was still first and 10.
