Ratbird bits:
231 yards rushing by the Bears. This 9 more than we gave them, and the most ever given up by a ravens team.
Joe Flacco: 48.4 qb rating. LOL!
Fans are calling for Harbs to be fired.
The Bears basically cleaned house, and already have as many AFC North wins as the Browns have in their last 49 games.

Browns bits:
1-21 under the current regime. This follows a 3-13 to close out the previous regime.
The Browns have won 4 of their last 43 games. This is worse than any 43 game stretch during the time when the Steelers were the joke of the NFL, back from their founding, up through 1971.
Update on qbs not thought to be good enough by the Browns front office.
Watson: 17/29, 225yds, 3tds-1int. rating 103.4
Wentz: 16/30 222yds. 3tds 0int, rating 110.7

Anybody asking Joe when he's going to retire?

Anybody asking Joe when he's going to retire?

They're already discussing drafting his replacement over in Ratland.

Flacco is the classic "as good as his weapons" guy. Give him a good o-line, and good recievers, and you can win with him. He's like Neil O'Donnell, but better, because he can make more throws, and is capable of the occasional big play. Without weapons, he's awful, as was Neil. He can't make average receivers better.

It is hard to land a quality qb. What happened in GB, with Rogers replacing Favre, is like the Pens having Mario, and then landing Sid. It's very rare. The reason why Baltimore, and Cincy are stuck with Flacco, and Dalton, is because there are a dozen worse guys with starting jobs in the league. For as much crap as we gave him, the Steelers would be very lucky to end up with a Tony Romo when Ben hangs them up. No way you get a sure thing (as if that exists anyway) drafting at the end of the first round every year. Denver has a good team, but can they win with Trevor Siemian at qb?

Living in Baltimore, a lot of fans here think Flacco has no heart.
I bet they weren't saying that when he was lights out during the 2012 playoffs. It's a whole lot easier for a second tier qb to do well, when Ray Rice is in the backfield, and Anquan Bolden, and Dennis Pitts are there to move the chains on 3rd down, as opposed to the nobodies they have now.

That was the single flukiest run a team had since the Ravens won in 00... That team got so many PI calls in critical times and Boldin was allowed to mug dbs to make. Atches... their line was allowed to false start and hold way more than the typical nfl team, and their d that sucked that year was basically given a free pass... they surplant the 01 pats as poster children for the "league favors certain teams certain years because of the story behind them " conspiracy theories ...

Flacco should never have gotten that contract after that season... period

They paid him too much, but what were they to do, let him walk, and draft another Boller? When the Steelers were in the same position, they let Neil walk. How'd that turn out? Some team is going to make the same mistake next spring, and make Kirk Cousins the highest paid qb in the league, when he is basically Andy Dalton. Why, because Kirk Cousins, or Andy Dalton, sure beat having Kevin Hogan, or DeShone Kizer taking snaps for you.

The 2012 Ravens were lucky indeed to beat Denver, but there was nothing flukey about 2000. That defense was the third best I've ever seen, behind the 76 Steelers, and the 85 Bears. They were easily the best team that year.

Flacco is more smart than he is athletically gifted. With what he has to work with now, it really doesn't matter.

Agreed. No one was beating that '00 raven defense in those playoffs. Their afc title game defense against oakland was a masterpiece, as much as it makes me want to gag saying it

You know what though, as much as I love beating the Rats, I respect the hell out of the franchise. They used the Steeler blueprint to get it done. The games are always hard fought, but rarely chippy the way games with the Bungles are. In fact, I'll say something that might be seen as blasphemy by older Steeler fans. The Rivalry with the Rats is better than the Browns rivalry ever was. There were some great games with Cleveland, and of course the yearly pilgrimage to Cleveland, and the flat tires, and fights in the stands added to the flavor, but the games with the Rats have consistently been for high stakes in a way the Cleveland games rarely have been. We generally sucked when Cleveland was good, with the reverse also being true, so while the games were fun, there was rarely a sense of high stakes. There has nearly always been playoff implications for both teams whenever we play Baltimore. This has been the case for pretty much most of the last 18 years. I think it's become one of the greatest extended rivalries in the history of the league. Those 2 Lombardis that the Rats won don't bother me nearly as much as the 5 won by a certain cheating team. Those last 2 were handed to them on a silver platter by coaching stupidity.

Stephen A Dipshit is supposedly a Steeler fan who wants him to retire, there were a handful here wanting him gone after last week.
Play better yes, but when there's pretty much only one guy that can get open it's tough. IMO that's the biggest issue, no one other than AB can get separation. Hell #14 for KC who was like 3rd or 4th on their depth chart this season was wide open on at least 3 occasions yesterday.

Question fo the Day:

If Da Bears where in the AFC North....would they win the division?

nope

as we would destroy them in the second matchup

:cents:

I'm not laughing at the Ravens losing to the Bears as the B&G did, as well. The only positive, we didn't lost to them at home. There that Jax game, though. They may be better than they are given credit for. Anytime the Rats lose, is a great day. The Steelers are still Kings of the North!

Keep in mind, their last loss that season was against the Steelers. I was telling all my Ravens' friends at that tailgate that Flacco was good enough to win a superbowl. I'd seen Boller do it, and Flacco was way better than Boller. Though the 00 team relied on the defense and ST to win games, the 12' team had an average D in the regular season and an exceptional D in the playoffs. Pair that with a QB that made zero mistakes in his playoff run 8TDs 0Ints, and that's why they won their second lombardi. That and Kapernick...

Just to pile on the Rats a little more: Rookie QB Trubisky was playing only his 2nd NFL game and he doubled up Fucco's QBR at 94.

None of the divisions look real strong this season as of now. I thought the AFC west would be
