HOUSTON -- The Kansas City Chiefs finished Monday night's 42-34 win over the Texans without tight end Travis Kelce, linebacker Justin Houston or starting wide receiver Chris Conley.

Kelce had a concussion. Houston had calf spasms but was walking without any apparent problem after the game. Conley ruptured his Achilles tendon. He was on crutches in the locker room after the game.

Kelce was injured during the second quarter. He was examined for a concussion in the medical tent on the sideline, and coach Andy Reid said he cleared the test. Kelce returned to the game for a handful of plays late in the first half but didn't play after that.

"He came in at halftime, and he couldn't quite remember [anything],'' Reid said. "He was remembering on the field, but he couldn't quite remember things, and so we just held him out from there.''

The Chiefs also finished the game without Conley's replacement, Albert Wilson, or reserve safety Steven Terrell. Wilson had leg spasms, and Terrell had a concussion. Three players slated to be starters -- safety Eric Berry, cornerback Steven Nelson and running back Spencer Ware -- are on the injured reserve list.

The Chiefs played in Houston without three injured starters: offensive linemen Mitch Morse and Laurent Duvernay-Tardif and linebacker Dee Ford.

At 5-0, they're the NFL's last remaining unbeaten team.

"We're lucky enough we have enough depth to do that,'' Reid said

Reid>Tomlin
and its not close

Cool so we will have more excuses for next weekend if we play like ****.

We better hope Kareem Hunt gets food poisoning the night before. He's gonna chew up our Swiss cheese run defense.

Maybe if half the defense gets food poisoning and smith gets turf toe. Scratch that they still have Mahomes. We are screwed.

KC has some really good depth at key positions and Mahomes looks like a solid back-up and future starter. Something we don’t have. These injuries won’t slow them very much. If Kelce doesn’t clear concussion protocol that will hurt Smith. Kelce to Smith is Heath to Ben.

I believe our run D can keep Hunt in check, but with the KC crowd noise at Arrowhead it will definitely hamper their ability to jump the snap. Nonetheless, I say you give #92 a hat this week.

For those who have given up on the STEELERS, this week will make you want to come back......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Salute the nation

Atleast having Hunt in fantasy football it won't sting as much when he puts 200 on our defense.

As long as you win your fantasy football game

Exactly, we lost 4 straight last season and fell below .500 these same people gave up then, but climbed back on the band wagon in the playoffs.

Last year was filled with injuries and suspensions, and other than the loss of Gilbert, I'm not sure what is going on with this team. Tough to make excuses when on paper it appears to be a healthy team.

Them missing both Conley and Kelce would be big.

Chiefs open as 2.5 favorites at home

Watson burned their defense several times on deep balls to Hopkins and Fuller....Hopefully Ben can do that to Brown and Bryant.....

We can hope but Haley will probably have Bryant running routes within 5-10 yards of the line most of the day.

Ben hasn't been connecting on passes 20 yards down field. Says a lot about the struggles.
