First off, Ben royally sucked today, worst I've ever seen him. I hate to say it, because I love the guy, but I think he's already half checked out and retired.

But now let's talk about Tomlin. So today, we went up against the team with the best pass defense, and the WORST rush defense in the league, and we don't even attempt to establish a running game. We pass, pass, pass, even though clearly our QB is off. The rare times we did run, it worked, but nope, gotta pass. ******* STUPID! And this falls directly at the feet of the HEAD ******* COACH! Then there was the absolute dumbest challenge I've ever seen, of a clearly incomplete pass. Again, this is the fault of the HEAD ******* COACH!! I'm am so sick of this arrogant, stupid, ******* running our team into the ground. I respect all you guys, even those who disagree with me on this, but I will never understand how some of you continue to think he's great and accept his bullshit. There's always excuse after excuse and nothing's his fault. I'm not questioning your fanhood or intelligence, I simply don't get what you see in him. Enough is enough is enough. I truly believe this is Ben's year, and we have wasted the prime years of his Hall of Fame career with a freaking moron calling the shots.

Can't really argue with any of your points. Ben will definitely be back and I wouldn't be surprised to see him toss 5 TD's vs the Chiefs next week but I'll give him a pass this week but he's gotta improve and quickly we've got three very tough games now, @ KC, vs Cincy & @ Detroit. The Steelers could end up 3-5 by the bye week if they keep playing like this.

I hope you're right Chico. Just looking at Ben's play and demeanor this year, he's not the same guy a before. I think he's checked out. It's a shame really. Greatest QB in team history (no offense to Terry), and a sure fire Hall of Famer, I hate to see his career end with a bad year.

Ben did, and has sucked this season. The side-arm chucks, mostly 25+ yards to his right have been glaring. That and he looks unsettled in what brief pocket he's had to throw in. He may have packed it in, but I'm of the opinion it's age and internal locker room issues. Hope I'm wrong.

I sort of hear you but on the first drive, we passed first to open the run and it worked. We moved right down the field and then sucked in the redzone. When we ran first, we went nowhere and no adjustments were made. I know teams have had success running against the Jags and we were also when we passed first. We were stuffed on most first down runs and were then behind the chains. Bell was getting chunks of yards.

The 3 redzone trips with only 9 points doomed the team. After the 2 pick 6's, the coaches, the O and the D gave up. They came out and ran on 1st down after both pick 6's and got stuffed.

We put 6 DB's in the game way too often against a team that does not pass the ball and did not pass much today. The D should have had 3 DL and 4 LB's in the game the entire time unless it was 3rd and long. Then, maybe take out a LB but not a DL. We should ALWAYS have 3 DL on the field.

Tomlin is a moron. Let's suppose the anti Ben people are right for a moment. The head coach should be the first one to know and prepare his team to play like say Jacksonville did today.

Or if you perfer a Cowher like game plan with Tomzack_Graham_Stewart at quarterback.

The blame Ben crowd can not have it both ways even though it's obvious they try to absolve shady from blame.

His coaching today sucked. A reason why we lost and his use of timeouts wasn't even jr Varsity.

Really? Because those two pick 6's were pretty hard to swallow.

It's amazing... Ben has the worst game of his career, and you are still trying to shift blame to any and everyone else but Ben.

I prefer at least to be competitive, whatever that was it sure wasn't this.

Haley is in charge of this O, and the D has made strides although their run issues are still there.

As a O coordinator I would have said this.

Mix it up no run run pass or pass pass run. Mix it up. Heavy dose of run, mixed in with Bell screens. With a 20% success on deep balls, unless a WR is wide the **** open don't throw it.

This isn't happening. This team comes across stupid, and sometimes on O down right lackadaisical.

I would put Eli back on the field. And substitute all WRs not named Antonio Brown. That includes Eli getting a hat, and perhaps throw Juju on the outside opposite Antonio.

Same ******* tendencies this team continues to show, same...******* same.

Something needs to CHANGE>

It's hard for me to say that it's age, as it pertains to Ben. The moment I see his trademark "escapability" disappear, I'll say that he physically doesn't have it anymore. Hell, even today he was moving around and avoided a few sacks. Until then, this **** is all mental with him, as it usually seems to be.

Haley sucks, but we heard the same excuses when Arians was here too. At what point is the head coach held accountable? I've asked may times what the Tomlin supporters feel his role is, since they always seem to say everything is somebody else's responsibility. Honestly guys, what are Tomlin's responsibilities?

I'm all for firing the ENTIRE coaching staff, and shaking up the roster some. But NOTHING will change with Cool Shades at the helm.

The same people saying we should of ran the ball and saved Ben from himself must of missed the complaints of run run pass in the game thread..

Because you can't have a running game without run-run-pass scenario. You CAN have a running game without blatant predictability.

Agreed.
He's different this year.

Its called EXECUTION..execute the play called. Everyone bitching about them having the worst run defense but ***** about attempts to run down their throat. Execute. Just like they did..they ran ten consecutive times at one point. Execute. There are no magic playcalls.

The trend has been since 2009.
Whatever relationship goes on between the HC and the OC needs to be addressed.

The pieces are in place right now. Offensive weapons, the Defense is finally winning battles.
Downside is our QB's heart just isn't in it anymore. Hard to say if the playcalling, the constant pressure is just getting the best of him.

Maybe it is time for Ben to hang them up. For his health.
The guy gave his body for this franchise. As a fan, to witness 2 championships, and a trip to a 3rd SB.
Cannot be mad at the guy.

Time to search for the next guy. And a new OC

Lmao, so the play call is always perfect if the players only execute? Fire all the coaches because they are totally irrelevant then.

Why does it have to bee all Ben or Tomlin or all anyone. **** I blame Munchak today as much as anyone and he is a good coach. Our Line is making Ben look worse than he is. Hecan’t move quite like he used to and they are not giving him time consistently. Some is scheme some is injury some is Ben still sometimes does not make a quick read to dump. I disagree about not being competitive today. Take away the tips and see where this game ends up. Defense had failures but mainly because the offense kept falling short or giving up points.

Cant really blame the defense, but the game plan was still terrible on that side of the ball. No reason whatsoever to play dime defense against the worst passing team.

I don't even know what to call the offense. I believe the team has internal issues. The line is crappy, ben is crappy, bell isn't that great. Only one who has shown up has been AB. The team definitely needs a shakeup but i don't see it happening

I've generally backed Haley since he's been here but I think it's time for a new OC. No one has done less with more than him. Thing is I don't know who you replace him with that's better.

Tomlin is an idiot that will be around long after Ben is gone. As far as Ben is concerned, he's already retired. I think it was Chuck Noll who said “If you’re thinking about retiring, then you’ve already retired".

You are correct, it was Chuck Noll's statement. Applying the above, not only did Ole Ben think about retirement, he openly expressed it. Not to worry, Cool Shades will have Landry ready to go - ouch!

but, Tomlin is no leader...

I think he is a leader, but many ways to lead. I always have thought he wasn't a X and O coach. I still think that way.

I just feel his short comings get in the way of his pluses.

I disagree with Tomlin being around long after Ben retires.

Unless they have another Big Ben fall in their lap. And we know the odds of that isn't good.

But for here and now, you can only address what you know can happen now.

Which if I had to guess, isn't much.
