Todd Haley went to high school somewhere where they played 8-man football.

He can't conceive of an offense that features more than 1 player a week.

That's gotta be it.

Throw exclusively to Brown one week, Run Bell exclusively the next. There is no middle ground.

I'm as happy as anyone that Bell finally got his groove on. Happier. The theory is that if Bell is a true threat out of the backfield, it theoretically opens up the offense for Brown, Bryant, James et al.

But that would mean you have to sometimes USE those guys. I am greatly concerned that if you use Bell 35 times a game you are exponentially increasing the odds that he's going to get hurt. And the team simply can't afford for him to get another season ending injury.

Balance Todd... Balance.

Good Win though. and I'm THRILLED with Bell establishing some of that good old dominance. And against the Rats no less...

Would you believe he played Golf in college, not football?

I think the way the game unfolded had something to do with that, up 19-0 on the road vs your biggest rival, I didn't want to go totally conservative, but I guess not risking turnovers and allowing them big plays played into it. I'd have liked to see Connor get a few more runs.

I agree, can't expect Bell to touch the ball 35 times a game and make it through the season

Been screaming that for awhile. Haley needs to mix it up if for no there reason than to just give Bell a break. The rat's "D" was keying on the run / Bell and still couldn't stop it so imagine a team that can stop it.......... Mix the plays a little more, use play action on FIRST down, etc.etcd.

Salute the nation

Oh FFS!

Enjoy the goddammed win people!

This board really pisses me off

Ravens boards are hilarious

We should have kept Tyrod!

8-18..28 yards...2 Int, way to start fast!

I dont think they altered from anything they were doing in the first half. The Ravens defense just tightened up a bit.

You realize Jimmy Smith has shut down everyone he's covered up until this point. When Smith went out the first play they tested the rookie Humphrey with a deep pass. After a terrible loss last week you have to keep doing what is working. It was pounding Bell up their *** until they couldn't take it anymore. They were done by the end of the fourth. He had gaping holes to bust thru.

uh, yeah.

It was a good win. But, a team usually shows who they are through the first 5 games of a season or so (barring numerous key injuries). This team has way under-performed on O in every single game. Even in this game, the running game was good but the passing game, not so much. The D, other than the run D last week and the 2 huge runs yesterday, has over-performed. You can see what had some nice offseason FA pickups, Watt is the real deal and we have a player in the little guy Hilton. I like the way the D is headed.

The O, hasn't really come close to that 30+ point barrier, let alone to average 30+. There is plenty of blame to go around there. Terrible play calling. Ben missing receivers. Receivers missing Ben. Offense penalties, especially when we get in scoring territory. Receivers not getting open. Bell sucking for 3 of 4 games, etc. The O hasn't played a good game yet after 4 games. They need to start clicking and improving and soon. Our toughest games are coming up and we will need 30+ to win some of them, especially against the Cheatriots and Packers. The Lions, Chiefs and Texans could also give us a run for our money if we are not putting points on the board.

I'm not bitching, believe me. I'm just worried about Bell surviving the season. They need him. I believe with every fiber in my being that the Steelers win the AFCC game last year if Bell is healthy and can play his game in that championship matchup.

If he is hurt and can't play by the end of the season... Well - there you have it. 35 touches a game is a lot of ******* tackles.

With all the weapons on offense just surprised we don't have some different looks on offensive plays. We seem to run the same scheme over and over. More than happy the offense looked much better , just to many players that could be used when the defense knows we use three players over and over.

Now that the "it takes us four games to get going" baloney is over, I'll reserve my opinion on the Steelers until after the Jags game. The Jags greased the Rats two weeks ago capitalizing on some really horrific play and turnovers but were only able to score 20 points against the Jets?
Ponderous.
Where in the grand scheme of things do the Jags and Jets defenses rank?
