First, if true MT you're an idiot. Second, it's a mute point so why is BB opening his trap again.

I would say that is unbelievable, but then I would be lying. There is NO way that you can justify NOT taking the ball in OT.

Bens time is up... he just wants to be a house husband and golf. His preseason interview where he said that he hopes everyone will appreciate him more after he leaves was clearly an indication that he thinks more of himself than reality. Aside from the issue why would he even reveal that to the public?

The reason why I question the state to begin with is there is audio during the last Bronco game at Heinz Field when Ben himself questioned Tomlin about deferring the coin toss because the Broncos were the #1 defense. Tomlin responded and said "But we got you" referring to Ben. With that evidence of his mentality, I'm not so sure Tomlin doesn't put his offense on the field in OT.

I'm not a huge fan of Tomlin as our coach, but I refuse to believe he would make that decision. I'm calling shenanigans on this

No its true. And and it comes down to which unit was playing better at that point. You can make a case that was the defense. After giving up 100 plus yds rushing in the first half they had only given up 34 yds rushing and zero points after halftime. Shut them down force a punt and now your offense needs any score to win.

And their main back had gone out, what? 3 times with a shoulder?

In the greater scheme of things it's a ballsy call, but you can see where it's coming from. And again. To be fair on BOTH those big runs there were blatant holds that sprung them.

Ya. Would have been nice to have them 2nd and 17 at the 9 or so...

I think Tomlin also didn't want our wr's to be looking back into the sun, so they wanted to defend a certain direction maybe

Neither am I. A head coach should give his team the best chance to win. Over the years I have seen him squander timeouts, go for it when he should have kicked it, and kicked it when he should have gone for it. He says he is a degenerate gambler....yes he is.

Tomlin made no adjustments to stop the Bears RB's and this strategy was the wrong one.

When I see other head coaches on the sidelines, they have play charts or talk to other players with sideline coaching. So how come when the camera shows Tomlin he's doing neither and has on dark shades, which is fantastic if you want to limit the eye contact communication.

2011-2014 data on overtime coin tosses.

Since the rule change, 24 out of 42 ( 57%) the team that won the toss won the game. You always want the ball first, unless maybe there is terrible weather, which was not the case last Sunday.

Gamblin' Mike strikes again.

Strike at what??? We lost the coin toss. And you say no adjustment made. Somebody did something whether it was coaches or players because again after giving up 100 plus yds rushing in the first they only gave up 34 yds rushing til the beginning of OT. But carry on

Makes no sense why you would give another team a chance to score a TD and your offense never sees the field. If you trust your defense then let your offense score a FG and trust your defense not to give up a FG or TD after that.

What guarantee that we would get in FG range? And im only saying this because there is some merit to both sides. Not a slam dunk decision at least not this game

ding ding ding! Means nothing now. We lost the toss and game.

It shows we have an airhead for a coach. Fans seldom learn about what Tomlin is thinking. In this case we know, and a JV coach would know better.

There's no guarantee that you score a FG if your defense forces them to 3 and out. To give another team an opportunity to score a TD and you get no chance to put points on the board is STUPID. ABSOLUTELY STUPID.

I am not a MT fan, but Some of the points for deferring make sense. I would still take the ball and attempt to get some kind of points, then have the D hold them.

Who doesn't take the ball and try to ram it down their throats??? Defer? That hasn't been much of a Steeler tactic.
