Satellite broadcaster will let at least some customers get refunds to its Sunday Ticket package of NFL games if they cite players’ national anthem protests.

DirecTV is allowing at least some customers to cancel subscriptions to its Sunday Ticket package of NFL games and obtain refunds, if they cite players’ national anthem protests as the reason for discontinuing service, customer service representatives said Tuesday.

Under Sunday Ticket’s regular policy, refunds are not to be given once the season is underway. But the representatives said they are making exceptions this season—which began in September—because of the controversy over the protests, in which players kneel or link arms during the national anthem.

I cancelled my entire DTV package, and just went from AT&T to verizon because AT&T owns DTV. so there's one. I will probably spend the day with the grandkids on our boat.

I don't and never did have dish but about 4years ago I cut my cable ties and got a internet streamer. I pay $8.00 a month for Netflix. I'm in your boat and would actually like to hear how many actually do cancel. I wonder if the number will be enough to actually affect the NFL / AT&T???

I recon so.The trend is full steam ahead. I like that I'll get a full refund too. I would be shocked if they pull any b.s. this weekend,but you never know. This is only the second year i got it. My wife just went ahead and ordered when I was on the fence about it. I'll just switch it to center ice.
