My personal favorite quote...

Hey, if PSU coaches will screw their own team, they'll certainly screw another team. -- Bazinga!

I don't hate PSU, Ive moved on from the Sandusky crap and was giving psu2.0 a fair shake...but some of the recent stuff is making me think of them as the good guys less and less and more like OSU lite

in their defense, a shutout was on the line. If it was 53-3 and they did it, I'd be more inclined to think it was a dick move. They are also the team that missed out on a National Championship because they let a team score two meaningless (or at least they should have been meaningless) TDs in garbage time.

I just hope they beat the piss out of Ohio State. People here are retarded for them. I guess cause no browns / bengals contenders for so long.

Shutouts are a big deal for morale. It's also their second shutout of the season which is a stat that a playoff committee will look at.

It's not like they froze the kicker with 10 minutes left. There were seconds left and they were at the 13, so they had a legit shot at a TD and chose to kick a FG. It's like dropping down a bunt to break up a no hitter in the 9th.

Besides, they only gave their best player Saquon Barkley 10 carries in the game. He's a heisman candidate and they could have easily padded his stats Starting QB was pulled in the 3rd quarter and only threw 4 passes in 2nd half.

Yeah, could have been 100-0 if they left everyone in. Going for the FG was a dick move so Franklin pulled his dick move right back.

Completely agree...as Fair Lane said, it was a dick move...but it was a reactionary dick move. I would have done it too...

I have no problem with it. If Fraklin wanted to really be a dick, he would have kept Barkley and the starting QB in to pad their stats and run up the score. Barkley has no chance at the Heismann after 3 weeks because he has pulled him early even though Barkley is the best RB in college football and it isn't even close. The power and speed he has are mind boggling plus he is a great receiver and blocker.

Best running back to come out of college since AP. And as an all purpose back AP couldn't hold Sequons jock strap at this point. Top 5 pick in a league that devalues the RB position.

Here's an interesting question for you. If Kizer develops and the browns no longer need a QB would you trade Bell to the Browns for their first round pick to secure Barkley? Or Bell plus our #32?

Now that would be a dick move. Bell holds out so we trade him to the worst team in the NFL for his prime years. I'm sure 15 million to a team who's eating Osweilers 15 million isn't a big deal.

Man... that's a tough question

On one hand, if we are going to be drafting early, I'd hope it would be for Darnold or Rosen. We need to secure our future there.

But the PSU fan in me wants to see SB in black and gold more than anything. He's the best player to ever suit up for PSU (imo), he's a top 5 NFL RB RIGHT NOW, he would be absolutely unstoppable in this offense. Completely, utterly unstoppable. I don't know man. If Darnold is on the board I want that guy, but if not and we have the opportunity to take SB, yes I'd trade Le'Veon for either one

Sounds like a formidable opponent to me lol

I pull the trigger on that and don't think twice. As much as I love Bell, Barkley will make you forget about him pretty quick.

When you've got a huge score advantage in college you pull your key players for their own safety.

The kids playing on defense are emotional and it's too easy to lose your head and hit a knee on a frustration play regardless of when a whistle blows. Boom season over for the starting QB or Receiver or RB because the coach didn't pull them soon enough in a blowout and the other team was frustrated.

It's never a good idea to leave your starters in too long against a young undisciplined team.

good coach. keeping Barkley healthy for his career in the pros. Let the pros run his wheels off...

I'm a big OSU fan, and love to go to Columbus, but I have to agree, they can get extremely annoying. With that said, have you been to Happy Valley? It's like a freaking CULT there. You don't DARE say anything against their god JoePa. It's sickening. I attended Penn State (Behrend) for my MBA, but I despise their football team, mostly because of the fans.

Bell is again a FA at the end of the season. How we will be able to pull off a trade without his consent I exactly don't know how it would get done. Or maybe I am missing something.

you pretty much described every college town with a good football program.

As others have mentioned, it was Franklin's reactionary decision based on bullshit from the other coach, who decided to trot his field goal unit out there down by 56 with 11 seconds left on the clock. You could plainly see how exasperated Franklin was by that move, if you were actually watching the game. Can't say I'd blame him...fight fire with fire.
