Which teams do you think will make playoffs based on the first 2 weeks. AFC West is looking tough, but hopefully denver, kc, and oak will beat each other up. Balt D has given up 10 points in 2 games, but it was Cinci and the Browns.
I'll go with
Oak
Kc
Pitt
NE
Balt
Tenn

Denver can get in if they get consistent qb play. Nobody wants to play in denver. Tenn will get in by default due to terrible afc south.

Tenn and NE from their weak divisions, with the Steelers, Rats, KC, Oak, and Denver fighting for the other 4 spots. The Steelers, and Rats play the West this year, so head to head games will be crucial. The Rats, and Denver have traditionally given NE problems in the playoffs, so I'd prefer they be the wild cards.

We need to win these next two road games... we cannot afford to overlook the bears, which we have under tomlin, and the Ravens in Baltimore is always our toughest divisional game

The Rats in Baltimore is a "want" game, not a "need" game. As long as the Rats don't sweep us, we're in good shape. A win would really put us in good shape though. I could see us being 6-1 going into Detroit. Only two of our last seven are on the road, and both are winnable. Looking at our schedule, we have five games before the second Rats game that I see as tough games. Baltimore, KC, and Detroit on the road, and GB, and Tenn at home. Go 3-2 there, and win the others, and we'll be in great shape. No stumbles. Ten wins going into the NE game ought to be enough to get home field if we can beat them. They need to lose one more game between now and the game with us. They have Atlanta at home, and Oakland, and Denver on the road. Also a game at improving Tampa. If they win all four of those, my hats off to them. They might drop two, which would allow us to have nine wins at game time, and still be in position to earn the tiebreaker. Of course I don't want to go to Oakland, or Denver, so let's hope for 13 wins. Playing the Rats the week before NE worries me though.
Again, no stumbles vs scrubs. We only had one last year, the Eagles in Philly, which is not really a terrible loss, as it's always tough to win in Philly if the Iggles are decent, although it was troubling how lopsided it was. Baltimore, and Miami on the road looked bad at the time, but both teams were actually much better than we thought, and were not bad road losses.

I Love it When the Steerers play in Denver

We should beat the Rats in Baltimore in 2 weeks. By then, hopefully, our O is clicking and Tuitt and maybe Watt are back. The Rats O is not very good. However, as with every year, once they start winning, they get momentum and anything can happen. If they win next week and then beat us, we will have a tough time winning the division.

If you don't turn the ball over, the Ravens will lose. Their D is winning games for them now, but they can't rely on 5 TOs every game. It just won't happen. Offenses will get more efficient, and the Ravens D will find TOs much harder to come by.

Oh, and we're playing the AFC South, not the West this year.

I do not think the Ravens will make it as a wild card. The AFC west might have three playoff teams....Oakland, Denver and Kansas City. There is a chance Miami might make it over Baltimore as a wild card too.

You do? I hate it and I live here. 5-12-1 all time doesn't exactly get me pumped to see them in Denver.

We do not play well on West coast or in Denver. Yeah, they are all road games, but we under achieve on the road relative to out talent level.

On Denver, maybe it was a weekly flash in the pan, but their QB looked very good vs Dallas.

We don't play Denver, we play KC this year...

We're talking about a playoff game. We don't want to go to Oakland, or Denver for the playoffs. Denver has dominated us like no other team since the merger. Even Noll struggled against Denver, especially out there. I want no parts of Mile High in January. Let them, and anyone else, have to come here.

I got ya Mainia,

We didn't have any trouble steamrolling the Broncos in 2006 at Mile High Stadium. I think that was the last game that Plummer was considered a good QB.

Hell the Raiders don't scare me at all, unless they're a 2-14 team. Madden is lucky to have won a SB at all with that team of thugs. It took an injuries to all of our running backs for him to eek out a win in 76.

Denver has left Steeler Nation in postseason tears 5 times, more than any other team. Yeah, we crushed their hopes in January of 2006, but they crushed ours in January of 1998, not to mention the Tebow game. They've been an elite franchise for most of the last 40 years, and they've broken some hearts, just like they've had some heartbreak (Jacoby Jones).

We play the South.

The Tebow game didn't hurt me as much as the Kordell game when he threw that game away. We weren't going anywhere after losing 2/3 DLs in the first half of that Tebow game.

I blame the coaches for that game. They called those dumb plays. The Tebow game hurt because we were easily the better team. I'm not so sure that was the case in Jan 98. That said, I don't think we would have been hoisting a Lombardi either year, but you always want to take your chances.
