Well this week the offense certainly seemed like it was slightly better than last week. I'm starting to think our Defense is much improved and we finally seem to have a good pass rush again. Onward and Upward for Week 3 vs the Bears. Tomlin needs to keep this team focused and prepared going into Chicago. I hate those games that we should roll over a team and when it comes to the game we end up in a dogfight til the end.

Game Balls:
Cameron Heyward - It won't be reflected in the stats but damn this guy was very disruptive to that Vikings O-line.
Bud Dupree - Nice to finally see him start to get comfortable rushing the passer. I think Remmers the RT had three holding calls against him going up against Dupree
Martavius Bryant - Welcome back Mr. Bryant.....nice to see he's starting to find himself after a year long suspension
Ben Roethlisberger - Not crazy stats but consistency in the second half combined with 2 TD passes
LeVeon Bell - He's definitely improving....running vs that Vikings Front 7 is tough sledding he had some good runs and key first downs
Steelers O-line - Good job blocking up front and early on they were key in helping to wear down that vaunted Vikings Front 7
Chris Boswell - 4 FG's helping give us cushion down the stretch

Game Goats:
Jordan Berry - 5 punts 36.2 yd average......Cmon Jordan...gotta get better! Vikings punter flipped the field many times for them.....44.6 yd average.

FU's:
Whoever the hell is keeping James Harrison off the field.....**** YOU! Deebo needs to be in the mix! GET HIM GOING!!!

O - Bryant, Brown, and Ben
D - Heyward
Special teams Boswell

Goats. Berry for punting and coach Hailey for calling a rather uneven game.

Berry nailed that one punt

To add to Ben's day: Roethlisberger passed former Patriots' quarterback Drew Bledsoe for ninth all-time with in career pass completions, a week after passing Fran Tarkington for ninth all-time with over 47,000 career passing yards. He's also ninth all-time with 305 career touchdown passes.

Al got his *** handed to him today. He's got to improve.

Do you guys actually watch these games? Berry wasn't exactly punting from his own goal line all game. You can't go by averages all the time, ESPECIALLY with punters. There was ONE return for 12 yards, TWO inside the 20 including one inside the ONE FREAKING YARD LINE. ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** ***** *****...

Gheez, he had 2 inside the 10, on of those at the 1 yard line. YPP wouldn't be a good assessment. The only bad punt was a fair catch at the 46. I'd say he was solid.

Berry had two punts in the second quarter that were complete garbage! 37 yds & 41 yd punts. Setup the Vikes near midfield on both drives! If it wasn't for the Steelers pass rush the game could have changed quickly on those two ****** punts!

Burns is in between picks, needs to learn to keep hand of receivers.

I thought he had a pretty good game. Refs are letting defensive backs have a ton of contact with receivers nowadays. The PI call on him is something that refs don't call a lot of the time. Couple of mistakes by the DB's on coverage (due to "communication," I am guessing), but overall the coverage was solid.

I already see a coverage difference. And I think Haden and Hilton are helping to field a better unit. I think we will continue to see progress as the season carries on.

Agreed. Burns is turning into a legit #1 coverage guy, and Haden is solid as the #2 guy. Really hope Watt is not hurt too bad since his pass-rushing makes the defense very intriguing as one that will get better and better as the season progresses.

Loving Hilton..even if he gives up a catch the player is tackled immediately. And he isnt scared to hit TEs

Game Balls:
Martavis: shaking off the rust
JuJu: first of hopefully many Steelers TDs
Heyward: dominated all game
Dupree/Watt: both becoming the type of force we've been missing at that spot for years
Haden/Hilton: see prior comment - we've been missing what they bring to the table

Goats:
Todd Haley: everything feels so labored on offense right now. We're predictable, we fall in love with plays that work once, we waste a lot of possessions
Ben: not terrible so hard to say he's a true goat, but decision making felt erratic, for example: forced about 3-4 deep balls after getting the 2 PI's thinking it would work all day
O line: as a group they have taken a big step back since last year. Hoping they hit a groove at some point

FU:
As usual, **** NFL officiating. They are inconsistent, they throw flags for ticky tack bs then let other obvious things go. There were stretches of this game that felt like there were flags on every play. And every call he gave, Morelli sounded like he would rather be anywhere else doing anything else. NFL officiating gets worse and worse every year, and it is by far the worst part of the game. Some games just feel tainted and ruined by horrible officiating. This wasn't the WORST game, but I'd give them an overall negative grade, and they get FU every week until things get better

I'm gonna hafta go back and watch the game again. I missed the "Good job blocking up front" Chico was referring to.

Bell had like 80 some yds on 27 carries and I don't remember a whole lotta sammich eatin' time for Ben. Al had a rough time, Foster had a rough time ( again ) and Gilbert had heat palpitations or something. Dint look like a lot of running room to me...jus sayin'.

The defense IS lookin' better though.....hurry back TJ Oh and can we find a place to send 23 while we can still get at least a water jug or something for him ?

STs coverage has been really good this year. Did Deebo dress today? When Watt went out I expected to see more of him.

Dude is so explosive on the corner blitz.. He is almost always going free to the QB and forcing a quick throw.

You can't judge a punter based on his average alone. Did you miss the punt that pinned the Vikes on the 1 yard line?

He had a great punt to the 1 yd line yes I saw it. But early in the 2nd QTR when the game was 14-3 Berry had two chances to flip the field....something you expect your punter to be able to do on occasion. He failed to do it twice....giving the Vikings great field position at their own 40 & 42yd line. Thank god our pass rush was able to get good push and force the Vikings offense into a punting situation.

Berry needs to be able to step up and make those plays. I'll give him credit for the one to the 1 yd line but he's gotta be able to flip the field on occasion and he couldn't do it.

finally some sense in that matter
