Eli Rodgers is just a guy

We coulda had Jeremy Maclin like I wanted - but nooooooooooo, u guys sent him to Baltimore
 
So would you say that you could measure Bryants ability by what he showed Sunday. Rogers is a good third. Probably not much more. In the vain of a a Randel El or Cotchery. Nothingore or less. Not everyone is a star.

Yeah and not everyone could be a star or else we wouldn't be able to fit them under the cap. Rogers is good at making contested catches, is shifty and elusive in the slot, and has a surprisingly good catch radius. He is an adequate slot guy with the other weapons we have.

True, but Rogers is not good enough to be a #2 WR. Bryant needs to re-gian his form, or Ju-Ju needs to show something.

With as much double plus coverage AB had (and still had a monster game), it doesn't look like any of our other WR's are doing anything. Oh, and Bell did nothing to help either. It was the Ben, AB and Jessie show. Everyone else pretty much sucked on O.

Getting caught up in pecking order. Rogers is the third best receiver on the roster. God help us he would be the best replacement they have for AB because his skill set and things he could do would most closely resemble him. He is the best slot receiver on the team which is a sub-skill. I think pretty clearly from what I saw of Bryant from Sunday he would be a terrible slot receiver. And just as there are cover and boundary corners vs. slot corners (another sub-skill), I think Rogers is a pretty damn good slot.
 
We can snatch him off the PS, but he would have to go on the 53-man roster. Against his will, of course.

I am sure he would have no problem joining a active roster.
 
Rogers is a mediocre-or-worse punt returner.

The guy who should have had that job is now with you-know-who.

Not true. He is able to sign and decline signing with any of the 32 teams. He is not subject to waiver claims and is not a Patriot even though on the PS
 
Can't have super stars at ever position, Rogers is a good slot wr, quick and shifty.

Not sure the hate for Rodgers. He is one of the only WR who stepped up consistently last year. He is definitely best suited for the slot, but he is a solid player.
I do think Bryant would be good in the slot he is amazing after he gets the ball in his hands, but he needs to develop some more toughness.
 
Maybe, just maybe, the game plan wasn't to showcase or expose Eli's skillset last week. The one big catch, IIRC, he had was called back due to a penalty on us...
