We've got what looks like is a first string Tight End, a starting Corner back, and a much better 3rd Safety, and traded away two players we were going to cut in Cockrell and Coates!
Bravo Mr. Colbert.
Now we have a Tight End capable of getting deep and splitting the seam. McDonald could do some damage as the opposing defense will be focusing on Bell, Brown, and Bryant.
Suddenly we have a much better Corner back, capable of playing man to man coverage and making lots of plays on the ball. Prior to Haden arriving, Burns, was the only decent man to man coverage player we had. Now we can play more man instead of the soft zone that get's picked apart like the Thanksgiving turkey by the better passing teams.
And finally, Golden just wasn't good enough to be the next man up at safety. Obtaining Wilcox gives much-needed depth and also helps with special teams kick coverage.
Coming into the season, the weak spots were the starting Tight End a starting Corner back and depth at Safety. Not anymore!
