Because he made a few plays and had upside last season. That was the perception going into camp.

Since then he has regressed. Hence his value for a trade has diminished. Now he's viewed as an injury prone player who can't catch

That is crazy talk.

Almost as crazy as thinking Coates has "regressed". He played more than 1/2 a season with broken fingers. He hasn't shown a lot in pre-season, but he has shown he is better than the broken finger version.

Neither he nor Hunter have shown a lot in pre-season. Hunter got 1 TD. Whoopdie freakin doo. If we had drafted him, these people would look at his regular season production and want him out on his ***. A five year veteran, struggling to take a spot against what is, apparently, a ****** 3rd year veteran. Sign that ************ UP!

Hunter has at least made some hard catches, Coates has not. To much hype on Coates when we have receivers that are ahead of him performance wise this year. There are other players that have more athletic ability that may make plays during the year than Coates.

We will know the Coates saga by mid-late tomorrow afternoon. Don't really matter what we think here although I think Tomlin reads this board. I just want who is and pans out to be the best 53 on. The roster. I don't need bragging rights as to who I've claimed. I'm glad Hunter was brought in and if his presents has lifted Sammy than that is a good thing. Competition is all about raising the play of the team.
