If the WR's remain healthy, he won't get as many touches as last year, and I have no problem with JC getting his share of the snaps.

Don't know if he's serious about the 17 mil/per, but if so, tag again next year and good luck with your future.

There may be a team dumb enough to give him what he wants, not in Pittsburgh though.

What pissed me off he best is that he can't get any more Money and why not show up to camp with your Team mates .I wonder if he team mates how really feel but i agree if he does not get off to a good start
i am sure the Fans will let him know their feelings. I just feel it silly to be holding out.

If We win it all tag him, and try to work an extension as if Dobbs development is slow we will need an RB that we can hand the ball of to 18-25 times a game to keep the D honest.

I'm not happy with not training at camp and holding out for more money but that is the game with these players today. How do the players react since they spent sweat at camp, played preseason for the most part and now Bell jaunts in all smiley face and says he is ready for game day. He hasn't played a complete year yet. Fans will be fine with it I get it that is as long as he produces and produces each game.

Bell will be rapping from his reserved hot tub seat within 3-weeks of his reporting date.

Done with that idiot. If we cut him do we have more money to pay a decent CB? I really don't know the rules around franchise tags and a guy who doesn't sign.

I pretty much don't give a **** if he signs or not now. **** him and his 17 million. Why don't you try playing a whole season plus playoffs first China doll. I'm sorry, but no guy is above the team. He gains nothing from all this bs he's doing now. His holdout reason died when his contract deadline passed. He has to play for his 12..1 million or sit on his *** and lose 12.1 million. For all of his athletic ability he has **** for common sense.

Run the legs off him. Then let him go get big cash while broken down at a second tier team,

Non exclusive Franchise Tag it is!

This is what I would do if he is unreasonable next year, you have to get something for a talent like this. Now if he gets a new contract fine. But if not it is this tag and I am sure some team will bite....

if Conner, as a rookie, can come in and show --- behind THIS OL --- that he can be at least not much of a downgrade, this may be the last season we have Bell.

Early schedule is fairly weak this year so I say you give Conner some reps (split with Bell so neither gets a bulk of the load) and see what you have with him.

Accomplishes 2 things:
1) You have a better idea whether Conner can be a legit replacement.
2) Suppresses Bell's stats and therefore perhaps his market value for next offseason.

This guy is re-writing the playbook for being stupid greedy in free agency. If he suffers any significant injury this season then he just screwed his future to the tune of $10 million or more. Should have signed that long-term with Pittsburgh. Now, I think this year is his last. He is pushing himself out the door with an organization that rightfully has never given in to these tactics.

This is true, unfortunately. Just can't replicate Bell's ability to be a receiver too.

I agree that he has great receiving skills, but I wish they would start him in the backfield. I hate when they put him out at the WR position. Hey defense, there's no back in the backfield, we are about to pass.

I think to be honest the writing is on the wall for Bell. They just spent cash on Haden and Villanueva and will likely use the rest of the money they planned on giving to Bell on Tuitt and Shazier. I say ride his *** until the wheels fall off this season and let him go try to find 17 million with the Browns...

Can't pay Bell more than $12M this year anyways. Because they went beyond the negotiating window they can't work a new deal for him until after the season. Bell ****** himself by not taking the money. If they tag him again his number goes up to a little north of $14M, still less than he has reportedly asked or rapped for. Steelers get him for another year (probably Ben's last) and then can let him walk without overpaying for what will then be an aging RB with Connor on the roster ready to step in as starter. Bell should have taken the money. He isn't getting anything close to what he was offered 2 years down the road.

I think Bell is an amazing talent, but Rb isn't a position of impact like it once was and beyond that the difference between a great rb and an average to above average rb is not great enough to sink 15mil plus into it

Check this out. Bell's hip hop on what he thinks he's worth.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/08/31/leveon-bell-updates-his-rap-based-contract-demands/

Might have to trade him now while the value is there. Two #1's picks from the New York Jets and RB Paul Perkins?

This would give us Perkins and Conner as the primary backs, save us 12 million a year in cap space, and two first round picks, which will be high picks We will need to spend a high first round pick to pick a new potential franchise QB, and by the looks of it, 2018 looks like a very good QB class

Yes-- He's great but suspended twice and always hurt for the playoffs.

Why trade him? He's locked into a $12M deal this year. We do need him to help win a championship. We also can lock him up for $14M next year if he wants to do the same ****. He cost himself a lot of money by not signing. Aging RBs aren't going to get paid what he asked for. We can let him go after 2 years of tagging him and we will already have his replacement. We did the same **** with Max Starks BTW

Yeah, but no one picked Max Starks off the street when he was cut and re-signed.

Bell could force a trade after this season. Historically speaking he has been hurt twice in the playoffs and these antics of using the media to bit@h never sit well with Steeler management.

His value could for a trade could be at its peak right now ( Like you said he's young and in his prime ) and the NY Jets are one of the three worst teams in the NFL, meaning we could pick Sam Darnold or Josh Allen, either QB is viewed as a franchise type.

It is my belief the Steelers OL, Ben and WR's make Bell great as much as his talent, but put him on an average offense he'll gown down a notch or two.

I don't think so. The team is really in the drivers seat this and next year.

Bell is a fat head type ( Okay who gets the joke? ). He could believe his hype ( Asking 5 million over franchise mark for an easy position to replace ) and pull a Mike Merriweather next year, weakening our hand.

It would be a mistake to trade Bell. Tag him again next year if he won't sign and if he wants to hold out so be it. He can't get paid if he doesn't play.
