Even our secondary might look good for the opener.

No worries. Tomlin always has this team ready to roll in the first game, and we always do well against teams we are supposed to beat easily. If the defense keeps up its preseason pace, Kizer will look like the ROY in the opener.

yet he won the starting spot, sad isn't it?

I'm sure the Steelers will make it look like he's the second coming of Joe Montana. Just know every time we give up a 3rd and long(to some scrub non hof type qb)a baby kitten dies.

Hmmmm, did you actually watch the game(s)? PS3 game stats for Kizer don't really tell the tale for him accurately. There were multiple drops right in the hands/numbers for his WRs. He's going to be given better than average time behind their line, and he's gonna be full on Andy Dalton II, just like when Hue had him in Cincy. Heavy on the short crossers and RB dump offs and handing off most of the time. And he can run. He's a rook, so he's going to make mistakes. But he didn't look like Osweiler, Kesler, or even Landry Saturday.

Yes. I saw him on NFL network. They replay ALL of the pre-season games. Lots of rookies QB's are playing, he did not look much better than Dobbs. If dump offs and short crosses are your passing game, you're toast on 3rd down.
In their pre-season games, the dude is just completing 51% of his passes and as you mentioned most of the ones he completes are short and easy types.

Tell that to Tom Brady. He didn't have much trouble on third down against the steelers dumping off passes to LAX players.
In case you haven't noticed Brady knows where every defensive player is going to be due to his headset audio.
