Roger Godell close to a contract extention through 2024

the league is still on top and making truck loads of $. The dipstick is going nowhere. Damn!

easy money for that ******, he only has to be booed once a year in live national tv
 
Goodell is a trainwreck from a PR standpoint and how he handles league discipline, but he sure makes the owners a ton of money.
 
He already makes 30 million, give or take a few a year. I do not want to hear what he'd being paid with this new deal.

The league is going to make money with or without him. I think this is a matter of the devil you know.
 
I still feel the game itself has backed up since Gödel came but the owners as a business under him has made tons of money. As fans time to see the league really could care less what we think. Fantasy football keeps fans interest more than teams themselves.
 
Goodell represents the owners. The fact that he's the one that draws all the ire from fans makes them very happy.
 
The "rog" is a **** ******* sword swallowing midget. Until the owners care he will make more $$$$$ than any or possibly all of us combined. Can't stand the ******* but have to realize who his boss is. Us fans have zilch voice in anything related to the NFL. Again

Honestly, I fail to see where Goodell makes the league a single dime. Football was fine before him, and once he's gone, it will be fine. He himself hasn't done one thing (that I can remember) to make the league better. And if anything, it's trending downward, though still clearly the king.

and that's why he still has a job and getting an extension. The slippage is not that great.
 
I will be a lot more okay with this if the new CBA is more fair to the players (higher slice of revenue, more guaranteed contracts, better post-retirement benefits, etc.) and removes his basically unlimited disciplinary power.

All the owners (majority, at least) want the harsh discipline on players. I think they understand that at some point theiy will be in the barrel.

Not really. He's best pals with Roger. They just had to make it look good with the Brady ball deflation deal. Ole Roger sure had those tapes destroyed fast so nobody could use them...uh huh...riiiiight. what a load of horseshit that was.
