Bills Trade Sammy Watkins to Rams, Acquire Jordan Matthews From Eagles

In separate trades, the Bills sent Sammy Watkins to the Rams and replaced him with Eagles receiver Jordan Matthews.

Eagles acquired CB Ronald Darby from the Bills in exchange for WR Jordan Matthews and a 2018 third-round pick.

The Eagles were clearly ready to move on from Matthews, so using him to acquire a talented, young corner with two years left on his deal looks like a no-brainer. Outstanding as a rookie, Darby had a bit of a downturn last season, but he is still easily the best corner the Eagles have on the roster and upgrades what already looked like a stout defense. If Sidney Jones is able to fully come back from his Achilles' injury, the Eagles could have a solid corner duo for years to come.

I would have gladly give the Bills Coats and a third rounder for Darby...Darby is damn good

Matthews isnt all pro but you would need quite a lot of extrapolation to get from Coates to him.

Haha. Id say Coates might even have more potential to be a legit one than a lot of guys. If he was cut or the Steelers only wanted a bag of low cones in return, there would be a lot of interest. Him and Golson are tough to dump, buy I just dont know what else you can do with what youve seen and no camp.
