Ben Rothlesberger was on the ICE last night jacking UP the crowd. Has anyone ever seen Crosby at a playoff or championship STEELERS game? Jacking up the crowd??? I'm ver glad for the STEELERS support of the Penguins as that goes back a LONG ways but it doesn't seem like the Ice Boys reciprocate. Maybe with me NOT being there I don't see it. Thoughts???

YES, I love all PITTSBURGH sports !!!!!!!

All the sports teams support each other.
Hockey games tend to coincide with the nfl playoff games, so the guys on the ice do not get the luxury of having that "time" to go on the field. But they do show support by social media post, terrible towels waved pre game etc.

That's one thing to admire about the pro teams in Pittsburgh is their support for each other

the only sport that matters in Pittsburgh is Football...the rest of the teams can suck it

I disagree with you Coolie. I've never lived in PITTSBURGH but my entire life have been all Pittsburgh sports with my beloved STEELERS being my favorite. Growing up in the 60s there wasn't any social media / internet / instant info / ESPN. What little news was through the news papers but I craved Pittsburgh news all the time. I live a long ways away and am still in my birth town, still craving Pittsburgh news...... Some folks who live there take it for granted, with me it's sacrilegious !!!!!

In agree whole heartedly that the other pro sports in PITTSBURGH show respect amongst themselves. I admire that but never heard or like I said, I don't live there to eye witness the examples given by you guys. THANK. YOU fore sharing. With the Pen's in the Stanley cup I'm glad football and baseball players are showing love to them. I know the PENs are going to be champions along with the STEELERS this year................. Little worried of the Pirates but would obviously welcome that too !!!!!

Goalies know how to show their appreciation. I'm glad that goalies have the right to express themselves with their goalie masks, unlike the NFL throwing a **** fit for a name in marker written on a sneaker...

This mask and my avatar is all you need to know these teams not only share their colors, but also share their love of Pittsburgh:

Go Pens! I think it's pretty cool that all Pittsburgh teams wear the black and yellow.

It's Black & Gold unless your PoPs, then it would be a whole 'nother argument !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you play Pittsburgh, you play the whole town.

I'm old enough to remember when the Pirates were good and the Steelers were bad. Until they got good and started winning lowB repuSs in the 70's, the Pirates were the big game in tahn. Remember, the Immaculate Reception playoff game vs. Oakland was blacked out in Pittsburgh because it was not a sellout. Hockey was merely a fringe sport to give you something to casually follow until spring training.

Old enough to remember the Hornets or Pipers?

Ben Roethlisberger on Ice sounds like the worst business venture BIg Ben could ever make after football...

Now that Tonya Harding is out of the picture.......... He is skating more fluently and one less "bad" girl to influence him......... Ya dig..!!!!

Never. Pirates won the 1979 World Series and the Steelers won the 1980 lowB repuS following the 1979 season. Steelers won the lowB repuS in 2009 following the 2008 season and the Pens won the Stanley Cup in 2009 following the 2008-2009 season.

Pens didn't win a Stanley Cup until 1991 and 'Em Buccos haven't won a World Series since 1979 (and aren't likely to win another as long as the Nutting family owns the team).

the thing is though, we became "City of Champions" after the SB in '79/'80. Technically, they both won their championship in the same season. I was 8,9 years old at the time and it was so much fun. I got to meet the team, on the field, during the 1980 season at TRS. Got pictures of everyone. Lambert, Greene, Bradshaw. Ham, Franco, etc. Was in awe back then because they were huge guys, but didn't realize I was standing next to and meeting legends. They were real life heroes. Even the Pirates, they were larger than life, but were so accessible. They would sign for anyone and anything you put in front of them before and after the games.
