Former Steelers CB Keenan Lewis is in for a visit and a physical. Could be signed by the end of the day.

as I mentioned in the other thread does he have anything left?

For real?

yesssssss - if he passes physical, do it

The 31-year-old cornerback spent his first four pro seasons in Pittsburgh before spending three seasons in New Orleans. He sat out the 2016 season while recovering from a hip injury. The Steelers elected not to sign with the 6'0, 198-pound Lewis after meeting with him last offseason, as they wanted to see how his hip recovered from surgery.

This would be a solid player who knows our scheme. If he passes the physical sign him!!!

Steelers have Keenan Lewis in for F/A visit

Per SB Nation Keenan is in town for a free agent visit.

Would surely affect who we might draft today.

More than likely, the longer corners they liked flew off the board in the first two days. He was probably the backup plan, like DeAngelo Williams is the backup plan if they did not land a RB.

Where did you hear that?

I heard they were done with him completely

Are you kidding? He was beyond solid his last season in Pittsburgh.

He went to N.O. where they put him on an island getting exposed all the time, adn he flopped, got beat covering #1's one on one

They he ripped up his hip - surgery, off a year, who knows

That's really not his thing - he owns the 10 yd cushion - very solid, with help, a zone guy with us pretty much all the time

We need guys who are NOT injured. This last dance of career, in PITTSBURGH needs to end along with the 10yrd cushion. He's not the young full of potential everyone remembers, he's had hip surgery. That's a major deal for someone who makes his living off his "hip" movement. Stop gap insurance.

Salute the nation

Don't get this possible signing at all, we let him go, he wasn't good enough then, goes to NO , gets hurt now we want him back, BIG QUESTION MARK??

Beggars can't be choosers - if he isn't a cripple and can run

Willie Gay is on his last legs, I'd still look for FA's that can come in and play

Are you kidding? He was beyond solid his last season in Pittsburgh.

He was solid, not beyond solid in his last year.. In his 4th year. What was it, 2 or 3 int''s in 4 years? Not because qb''s were staying away from him. He had the much vaunted 29 PDs or whatever it was. Dude envied Ike''s thumbs. Goes to NO, gets 4 ints in one year and disappears.

I just told you, I watched the Saints games he played - they stuck him out there on an island every down like Revis all the time - that's not his strength, he's not one of them shut-down corners - he got toasted. But he played our zone good.

He was good here, that's why we couldn't afford to keep him, remember?

Yeah i liked him his first go round but this team started winning superbowls when they quit bringing in old retreads and gave lots of young guys reps to develop... not a fan of growth stunting vets

It was like the Apocalypse here when the team allowed him to get away the first time. Hopefully this will cheer some people up

I know, right?

Everybody so reactionary

Give peace a chance

Keenan Allen was a good fit for our defense....Not so much in New Orleans...I was unhappy when he left...would be worth the a small contract to take a look at him...

Oh bullshit - this team needs all the help it can get NOW!

**** all that developmental defense, 4 years down the road **** for when Ben retires - they you can rebuild the 2000 Ravens defense like those hicks over there

This is a PASSING league - we need all able bodies DBs front and center to provide just enough of a speed bump for Ben to outscore every team.

40+ pts a game should be our only goal this year

Amen

14-2

He's a better fit catching passes from Philip Rivers lol

well New Orleans didn't use him properly being how he is a receiver and everything..........

And are you people wanting people who can play man? Now you want theme to bring in older guy who can only play zone? Make up your ******* minds.

It wasn't that we couldn't afford to keep him, he wasn't worth what NO paid him.
