Kizer??

He'll suck on the Browns

Why would anyone draft a Notre Dame QB? Other than Montana, they have ALL sucked at the next level.

I remember when Brady Quinn was the next Browns messiah!

Kizer will unfortunately crash and burn in Cleveland. No mentoring form a solid hard working vet. Brock is a train wreck and Kessler, although a nice guy, isn't the personality to corral a mini Manziel. Just my opinion. Brian Kelly was right here I think. Don't be a fool, stay in school.

GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES *******, BE THANKFUL EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIVES WE HAVE BEN!

(and the Browns passed on him)

Ummmmm, that's some revisionist history.
Ben was not selected at our #11 spot to come in and play immediately.
He was actually slated to sit for the year until both Maddox and Batch got injured and was forced to play.
Soooooo, was that a "wasted" pick because he was going to sit and contribute nothing that year?
Put yourself in 2004 draft season mode, not "we already know how this plays out because it's 2017" mode.

We did not have a franchise QB on the roster when Ben was drafted. We weren't coming off of an AFCCG loss, we were coming off a 6-10 record. Batch had OFFSEASON knee surgery and spent the entire year on IR. Going into the season, Ben was the number 2 QB, even with a healthy Batch, Ben would have been the number 2 QB.

Comparing that draft, to this years isn't even in the same galaxy.

All the shouts downs on Ben and his int, please remember where we were without him and games we have won with him. Kizer have done nothing but wear a gold helmet. he had a bad outing a senior bowl, end of season was far from good let alone great.

Wasn't talking down about Ben, just pointing out to Coach that 15 INTs in 23 games isn't bad at all.

You're missing the point I'm making. IF the Steelers were eyeing Kizer as an eventual replacement for Ben, and thought Kizer needed 2+ years to groom correctly, it's not wasting a pick because he would be "contributing nothing" in Ben's final years. I understand the argument of "wasted pick" if you think the guy sucks, but not a coaching decision to sit and groom a QB, which has been done with many a QB ( Aaron Rodgers, Brett Favre, Steve Young, Carson Palmer, etc ), which may have included the likes of Ben and Dak had injuries not reared their ugly heads on those teams.
That was my point. I don't think it's wasting a pick if you want to groom a QB and sit him for a year or two and he doesn't "contribute" immediately. Not comparing seasons or teams or situations.
